I walked out to feed the quail and see something staring at me through the cage. Took me a second to realize it wasn't a quail. It happened so fast I didn't get a good look to see exactly what type of hawk was sitting on my porch railing staring into their cage. It flew off as I screamed and ran back inside.

My question (first time I've seen a hawk in my yard) is will the damn bird come back and try to break into the cage? Do Hawks rip up hardware cloth?


My chickens are now on lockdown.

They can’t rip up hardware cloth but I bet he could scare the quailies to death.

Oh boy. Maybe said neighbor will decide they don't like their house anymore and MOVE.

I think she is just mad cause our easement is on her property and probably thought no one would ever buy the 10 acres behind her. But now that we have built our range she keeps calling the cops and getting others to complain. Shes lucky we didnt subdivide, build 4 homes and have 20 cars a day pass her house, we are there 1 or 2 days a week for 1 to 2 hours, thats it.
