The male just started mating. He doesn't know what he is doing just yet so he it grabbing the top of their heads too rough. Hope he doesn't continue to be rough.


I started a hatch a long thread in the quail section.
I have already set eggs twice.


Nothing happened. They did not develop.

I am waiting for another few girls to start laying then I will be setting eggs.

I figured he was doing so. Our young cockerel is being that way too, very grabby and uncoordinated. We have some people interested in him but since we just dewormed him he has to stay with us until we can get his second dose done.

I knew your quail thread and the non-developers but I didn’t know whether any of the others had started laying to set more eggs.

Yes. BTW, nobody else, young or old, has shown any symptoms since.
The report said suspected Marek's. It's possible I had a different disease.

Everyone else around here who knows they have Marek's and other diseases do not have closed flocks.
And since it is ubiquitous and spread in measures beyond human control, I deem it pointless to close my flock since it won't stop the problem.
