➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Thanks, love ya too Kiki! Just trying to get through to Cy and I kinda went on a tangent aha I don't wanna just completely disown em though, I know they're still young and maybe changeable and young people make a lot of mistakes. I know I sure did.
You can use female pronouns if you wish lol.
I make a lot of mistakes. It's the primary way I learn.

These are the words I needed to hear.
You are right, I am leaving soon. So I will just leave these birds on my property. Besides, I have the guts to cull if needed.

I hope, too, that my views change when I leave my home. I do actually intend to run a very biosecure property in the future.

Thanks for talking to me in a reasonable way.

You are very welcome and I am glad that I was maybe able to help in some way. Thank you too for actually listening and appreciating it rather than just dismissing me or getting defensive which you could have easily done and I would have understood. I know that I personally though prefer to talk through things if at all possible and come from a point of love/reasoning. It's a lot harder sometimes but they say you get more flies with honey than vinegar. Not that everyone else doesn't love and care, I am positive they do, but idk, I guess I've always just been a bit of a talker and reasonably good with words haha I prefer to use that. Although of course in real life it is a lot harder lol working on talking reasonably and not blowing up with family or close friends but online it's easier. Anyway, speaking of family, I completely understand and it's definitely a lot harder living at home. I still do as does my brother atm and I've taken on a lot of their bad habits aha and it's hard to go against them, I know my parents certainly have strong views about a lot of stuff, my dad even has ideas/opinions on the chickens and how stuff should be when he doesn't even take care of them. So I definitely get it. And I think I also maybe get it being younger myself (24) but I think moving out will definitely be good for you. It was for me when I first went to school. I didn't stay there long but it's definitely better. And I'm glad you are reasonable and willing to listen. If you intend to run a biosecure property in the future, then I would say do it as much as you can now. There is no reason you have to change your morals just because people want you to

For the adults on here, especially @Texas Kiki @KDOGG331 @casportpony @BantyChooks and @Dona Worry Y'all have significantly more impact on me than my actual parents. My real parents give me little guidance and structure. I don't learn life lessons from them.
Not kidding, most of my life lessons and guidance have come from you guys. Yes, I'm young. That's been said. But as KDog said, I can still learn.

I've learned more responsibility from @KDOGG331 And @Texas Kiki
I've learned about relationships from @Dona Worry
Just puttin' that out there.

Okay, thanks. I was going to because I thought you were female but then tbh I wasn't 110% sure and didn't want to offend you  I think now it's maybe more offensive that I didn't. Sorry. :( :hugs

And yeah, that's how everyone learns, especially young people. It's normal. Heck, I think they say adolescence isn't even over until like 24.

Hey, no problem that you didn't use female pronouns. I'm not offended. :p
I've been communicating online with people older than myself since I was 12 and the people I was talking legit always thought I was male until I said otherwise.
I'm used to it :)

I think it's funny when I eventually release that I'm female since in a lot of cases their attitudes shifted abruptly.

Random factish thing. Apparently adolescence I think is over like early/mid twenties but your brain, especially the rationally thinking part, isn't fully developed until 25. So it's not entirely your fault, your brain literally operates differently than all of us. Ypu do need to try though and teach your brain :hugs

Thank you for this :)

Where have you been?

:hugs love you. Yes you're young and have made mistakes and you likely willl continue to for a while, everyone does, but the important thing is that you learn from them and you try to change/grow. I'd be a little worried if you didn't make an effort but you seem like you are trying. It's hard when you don't have mature or involved parents, my parents are very immature at times, but the important thing is that you try. Your parents/childhood don't have to define you. And we'll always be here. And I'm glad that I could help, it's really honestly like an honor to know that I've helped you so much and be listed there. And I'm proud of you too btw because I feel like you've come a long way even just in the short time that I've known you. I know I haven't been on the thread too long but you're really trying which is the important thing. And you have a little brother, right? Make sure that you teach him and guide him too if your parents won't and be there for him. :hugs

Thanks! I'm glad it didn't offend you, I try to be extra careful lately because you never know and I always want to use the correct pronouns.

And yeah, it really is funny. I've had a few people mistake me too, not many, but it's weird. It shouldn't affect anything or be any different but it is.
