Boy was I WRONG on AGE! :gig:gig:gig:gig:gig
But I think this means I should put her in with Noah and both girls and let Noah dominate and mate with her and let them work things out? I guess with the interaction that happened yesterday, she wasn't "frozen" and at all but was trying to be submissive. I was so off base. :thI just wish Noah would realize that he doesn't have to keep trying to bite and rip at her feathers.

Sorry, but I just hate it. The smell, the texture, the taste... it's just not something I would ever choose to eat. I come from an asparagus loving family and no matter where it comes from or how it's cooked, I just don't enjoy it. I've eaten PILES of it because one simply does not leave uneaten food on one's plate (not an option in my family) but I've always just choked it down.
That just leaves more for you!
And...After you eat asparagus it makes your pee stink. But It is my favorite veggie...raw or cooked. And Sugar snap peas!

How do you harvest it? Do you cut the stalks or do they pull out?
I slide my fingers down the stalk and snap them off where the stalks doesn't resist. That leaves some stalk to grow fronds to nourish the plant.

Do you see any real ones here:

IF ... Note IF I were to buy rice cakes, I would get the tomato basil flavored. Then add cheese and Peperoni and heat in the oven or microwave.

VERY true. I didn't realize how awful the laying hens were to the broodies until they picked my little cochin's comb nearly off! My EE girls are the only ones that don't really pick on the little broody girls. They seem a little afraid of them
My layers never bother the broody hens. Those broodies valiantly defend their chosen nest...screaming and pecking any who approach.

I think I way overworked myself this weekend with all this getting up at 630 and yesterday i took Libby on a 2 mile walk in 24 degree weather and took frank on a shorter walk first, half hour (and the sniffing makes it double the time so really its probably only 15-20 mins if i didnt add the stops), and 45 minutes, near continuous, respectively, with wind and cold and no face mask ,and then cleaned today, vaccumed and really cleaned their kitchen, so I think I totally wore myself out because yesterday and today I had bad migraines and today I felt really sick most of the day. Going to try to take a nice, hot shower and relax.

My hands are all bloody and painful too despite lotion yesterday, so I guess more lotion today, and my lips are all chapped/skin around my lips is too, maybe windburn
Sounds like wind burn and chapped. Our go to treatment is "bag balm". There are several brands that are not greasy. Besides farm centers, some pharmacy and hardware stores carry it. Or try Burt's Bee products. I also like anything with Shea butter...also not greasy.

Annabelle can now be integrated to the duck flock.
If Noah is more gentle with Luna, then the feather grabbing should ease up as their relationship progresses.

Tax preparation sucks! Takes time away from all my other fun projects.
My New Year's resolutions include
getting taxes ready by the time the last 10-99 arrives in the mail.
Cleaning out all drawers in the house and keeping them organized.
Working the garden in sections...one bed a day.
Re-organizing the chicken pens, painting all coops and replacing all the coverings.

Are you going to sleep early enough?

Yeah, I went to bed at 11 the first night and 11:30 the next cause I knew I would have to get up so early. Normally it’s like 2 lol

Try a bit of Vaseline and then cover your hands with mittens or socks (so it doesn't smear everywhere) before you go to bed. It should help your hands heal, you can even use it on your face. It's not the best feeling in the world but it works fast.

Thanks, I’ll try that. I have this one which seems to work pretty well and pretty fast but sometimes I don’t put it on for a few days and they get really bad. And also I haven’t been doing the mitten thing but that’s a good idea.

Thanks, I’ll have to try those things. I am sure we probably have some, we have lots of random over the counter things aha I put coconut oil on ly lips/face that much but it didn’t seem to do that much
