I've heard that mini goats are harder to contain, but we never had an issue with our standards. The babies, on the other hand, escaped all the time! I've attached an old photo of my dad, big brother and I with our old sheep, Annie. You can see the fencing in the background. Nothing special and it contained them just fine. They did occasionally bust boards rubbing on it.Awesome! I love goats. I wanted some but then I heard they were kind of a PITA, hard to keep contained, so then I kinda wanted sheep. But goats are so fun.
I meant to ask, are you having your kids disbudded or leaving the horns on?I think that mini goats are harder to contain, but we never had an issue with our standards. Sheep are definitely easier to handle, but they just don't have the personality of goats. Excellent lawn mowers, though! View attachment 1647461
Woohoo!!! Snow! Do the ducks like it? My chickens hate it, but the ducks seem to think it's pretty fun.My chickens and ducks first snow.

The pics are blurry because I just took a pic of the view on my computer screen with my phone. We have some cameras set up to look at various parts of the property. This is my view of my chicken/duck/part of dog area. I wish I could see the ducks better. The red coop is blocking the view of the ducks pool. We didn't think about that when we built it.
Not a whole lot on the ground, just a decent dusting really, but the chickens aren't caring for it too much. The australorps but putter around in it some but they are staying pretty close to the coop so they can go underneath to get out of it when they want. I saw the silkie Bowie, my orpington Priscilla and NH Red Amber walking about briefly. Elvis, the booted bantam, said oh hell naw, and he has been hanging out on a roost in the big coop. LOL! Bowie, Priscilla and Amber decided to finally join him in the big coop. The ducks don't care one bit.
They are disbudded. My parents went out last weekend to help the gal get them done. She's got another round ready to go so I might go help her with them after work this week some time.I meant to ask, are you having your kids disbudded or leaving the horns on?
Awesome! I was looking at some mini Nubian breeders here who refuse to disbud saying it’s cruel. They are disbudded. My parents went out last weekend to help the gal get them done. She's got another round ready to go so I might go help her with them after work this week some time.
