➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Go put it away NOW. It will only take a few minutes. Get it over with now! Do not pass go...do not collect two hundred dollars...go straight to put the clothes up.

I only said later cause I was about to go off!

Woot! Now by tomorrow, this time, clean up this area.

Good idea! That’ll be next. Need some more bookshelves though but I can at least go through it and find a place for it all :)

We’ve only ever used shavings :idunno I’m thinking wood chips out there though. I’d have a dirt floor to work with instead of concrete like the one we have the group in now. :celebrate

Put wood chips down and then leaves on top of that. It will be deep litter like. I read about it a while ago and plan on doing it in their run but it works for coops too. Basically, you do 3 inches of wood chips (not shavings, the varying particle sizes of chips breaks down faster) and then 3 inches of leaves on top and then it breaks down/composts and gives them bugs and stuff to eat/do too. And you can keep adding to it, grass clippings, garden scraps, more leaves, etc. as it decays. Some people say to start with 6 inches of each instead of 3 as it gives a better base/deeper. Depends on personal preference and how much of each material you have I guess. They you have compost right in the coop! Lol and the poop dries out fast. As for shavings, I have always used them in my coop and never experienced any issues? And my girls only moved to the big coop in April. Before that they had the 3x3 TSC coop kit which was tiny and a short roof and everything and still had shavings 2 1/2 years and were still fine. And now in the new coop it is much much taller roof (4 foot high walls and the roof is a peak roof so adds a few feet) and the roosts are probably 2 feet off the floor though they usually roost up in the rafters, so they are really not near the shavings, and I’ve never had issues. I use pine though or occasionally aspen when in the small one. Would never ever use cedar. Also the ones I use aren’t really dusty. Although that said, I currently have it piled really deep with alternating layers of shavings and hay and have not turned it and they really don’t scratch it so it’s not dusty. But today I did flip the layers and some dust did fly up so I can see where it could be an issue in a smaller coop or if they scratched it a lot but I just stack my shavings deep and they seem fine. But the new coop also has fully open eaves, 2 vents (one each end) and 2 windows on the sides, plus the large pop door open 24/7. If I could do deep litter, I would. And if I ever make a hoop coop, I will. But my current coop has linoleum/vinyl sheeting floor and the shavings are easy to clean, good padding for the nest boxes, and stay dry.

Snap out of it...where is that emoji when I need it.
I can't respond right now, I will asap.

I will never be mad at you if you at least do a little bit each day.
You have to do something though...don't waste the whole day. Days go by really fast.

Thanks, working on it. Hard to just snap out of it though but now that I am out of the house I am feeling better. I’m good now. Just had a bad moment I guess lol snapped out of it now though

And thank you. That is good to know. And that is true and I am sick of wasting days so I have been trying to do more.

Great! I'll take it!
:woot

It’s not much but I suppose it is something.

Thank you :hugs

No one sells straw here that isn’t $15 a tiny “bale”. Yeah no I’m not spending that much on it. :idunno

We have plenty of those things, especially leaves. I have enough leaves in the yard that I could fill 20 coops. :barnie

Yeah, that’s crazy lol and yeah, use wood chips and leaves

You know what I think would work good at helping you do things in a new way....a schedule.
A daily time schedule that stays the same everyday.
Can we make one?

That might! Idk. Never been good at schedules and following them though and they annoy me cause I always worry/think I might want to do something else that day instead

Have you watched the tidy show on Netflix yet?

No but I did see it on there and it looked pretty good.

All due respect you need to change your outlook first. Someone can always look at the glass as half empty. Finding reason to not is the easy way out

Yeah I know but I’ve just never really been a planner. I just prefer to think of what I want to get done and do it that day. Which I know clearly isn’t really working out for me at the moment and maybe it would be smarter to plan so I’m definitely going to at least give it a try but even without planning, once I get up and moving/motivated to do something, I can get a ton done. It’s just the motivation/getting moving part that’s the challenge. And it always has been for me. Just worse lately with all the other stuff going on. But I’m working on it. I did a lot today. Not a lot by most people’s standards but a lot to me. And I worked out not once but twice today.

I mean a schedule like...
From 10:00 to 10:30 everyday I will do nothing but _________and if I did that then I can goof off online for 30 minutes.
@11 I will stop goofing off and do _______ until 11:45. Then goof off.

I can't check Twitter until I get this done today.
No BYC until I do this.....

Little things like that.
Although I could make a full daily schedule for you. :D
