➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Heyo! She has a water dish and we keep it fresh and full, but no, I have never seen her drink from it. I figure it helps with humidity and I’d rather be safe than sorry. Beardies are from the Australian scrubland/desert and are supposed to get all their water from their vegetables.
The back left rock is actually a cave that she brumated in for about a month. (she woke up 3 weeks ago)

Gorgeous tank! And thanks for responding. I’ll continue to keep the water dish full and fresh, but now I won’t worry so much that he never uses it.

I don't think I made it past the third season. I did watch some excellent episodes from the later seasons with some spot on interpretations of some of my favorite scenes from the books, but was pretty disappointed with the rest. I guess I'm just one of those stuck up "I like the books better" people :D
Plus, if I had to hear itty bitty Jon Snow switch his accent one more time... :barnie
Don’t you talk about my itty bitty Snow that way!

I haven’t read the books, but that would change my perception anyway. I decided a long time ago to just take film adaptations at face value instead of comparing them to the original writing. They never come close anyway, so why bother lol.

Yea for sure! Her favorite blend right now is spinach, snap peas, squash, and blueberries, so I’m not concerned about her being dehydrated.
We do have to give her regular “poop baths” though. She won’t go in her tank, only in the tub.. it’s a blessing and a curse. Sigh.

Blueberries are TC’s favorite! He/she (still young, don’t know yet) eats plenty of veggies and I mist the salad with a little water for some extra hydration. We are doing two baths a week right now since TC is shedding. We have the opposite problem with poop though. TC seems to poop a lot. In the tank, in the tub, and on us when we are holding him. I think Beardie poops rival chicken cecal poops for shear nastiness :sick We live in fear of the telltale butt wiggle. :gig

Oh my gosh yes, beardie poop is absolutely heinous. The only redeeming quality is that her poop is few and far between, but that doesn’t seem so for your little dude. :gig
She has a good “tell” when she needs to go where she’ll start glass surfing up and down her tank wall until we take her out for her bath. At least it’s easy to wash down a drain instead of stinking out the entire tank and the room her tank is in.

I used to have rats and their poop was so solid and unoffending, but rodent poop is nonstop. I’m not sure if I prefer a weekly nuclear bomb, or several chocolate chips an hour. :idunno

I can only hope the poop will become less common when TC hits adulthood. I hear you on the small mammal thing though and I think I prefer reptiles inspite of the stench. We used to have guinea pigs. They pooped constantly, so it really was impossible to keep the cage totally clean and odor free. TC poops 2-3 times a day. It’s a lot for a lizard but nothing compared to a chicken or small mammal.

I think Kiki would like beardies. She wouldn’t have to change the paper towels every five minutes like she does with poultry :gig

I’d have to agree. As much as I love rodents and small mammals, the cage maintenance is insane compared to a reptile.
Heck, my leopard gecko only goes in one corner of her tank! I put a tile down so I just have to scrape that off every now and then.
Now I just gotta train IV to fill her own bathtub..
