➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Slackers are no fun!

For real :( since like late December, early January, I had one chicken laying and then another finally started laying like a few weeks ago but until then I only had 1 of 7 and before that, I had none since like September or October. I even had one hen start molting in August and still has not resumed laying  and even before then, I don’t think she was laying.

No fuzz butts today :( I really didn't expect them but I was kind of hoping lol. But that's just me being impatient. Only updates I have are:
1. Shipping label was created at 2:05.
2. Accepted at facility at 4:40 (is same PO. I think this is where it was scanned to leave). 3. Arrived at distribution center (which was different city) at 5:55. Then it says "your item is in transit to the destination.
So I am waiting. If it's supposed to be 2 day then it should be here tomorrow right? I read a story on here where the PO messed up someones delivery and so many of her poor ducklings were DOA. :hit And it's not the only time it's happened to someone. I guess that is the risk you run by ordering via online. I know that sometimes stuff just happens and/or mistakes get made. It's just got me a little worried. :barnie Here's to them coming tomorrow. :fl
Be sure to open your package at the post office in front of a postal employee and then take photos of your chicks.
This documentation is helpful in proving losses during shipping. I sure hope all arrive safely.

x2 If you can record the box opening as well it will help also if anything were to happen.

Ran a little bit today and now I am so sore and exhausted that I am actually going to sleep early for once instead of staying up till 1 or 2 :lau

I don’t know that you can really call it “running” though.... more like wheezing and stopping a lot :lau :lau :lau  and a lot of walking in between the running. And then more wheezing and coughing when I got back. :lau
Well good job for actually getting out there! Most people don't get as far as those first few steps. I like running, but getting motivation is HARD

Finally got a notification/status update that my chicks have arrived at my local PO. :yesss: I will be picking my little balls of fluff up this morning. :celebrate I am so happy! Now here's hoping that they are all healthy and peeping when I meet them. :fl

:wee
I hope they're all healthy and safe! You know we'll want pictures:D

Looks like Our Texas folks are getting the rain too!
We had hours of drizzle and light showers yesterday and heavy rain again this morning. I was able to get out Monday to work some on dismantling the small breed pens. I got a lot done.
Hubby has a dr. appt. today so will work on the pens when we get back...hopefully the rain will be gone...but high winds today and tomorrow. :barnie

Even with no set breed pens, I'm hatching a few at a time. I have older chicks to take to the barn, chicks to move to the hot tub room and chicks to take out of the hatcher.

I plan to candle the 51 duck eggs this evening...will try to get some pictures.
