➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

The poults were all at the hatcher door this morning waiting to be let out. I have a few things to finish up in the brooder. A third Sweetgrass poult hatched overnight.
This is the broody Sweetgrass hen that has taken up residence in the garden.

Jett passed away last night. That's slept in a bit on Thursday but otherwise normal to gone on Sunday.

We won't have a diagnosis as I'm not going to pay for an autopsy when there are only a couple possibilities. Wet FIP (which matches everything except the speed and high fever) and bobcat fever (which doesn't match anything except the speed and high fever). We're allowed to bury pets on our land where I live so that's the plan today.

I am so sry for yours and your familys loss of Jett. :hit :hugs

Sorry to hear about your feathered/furry friend.

That just took FOREVER to catch up.
It's 2am and i'm WIRED .
Margaritas on the boat yesterday and today it was wine drinking at a vineyard close by. I should be out cold but I might still be a little tipsy...and spinny.
Kiki- i'm confident that you made a good choice NOT doing the rainbow hairs. I can respect a solid crazy color, but let's not go overboard here. The blonde rocks, you're smokin hot!
@CrazyCrttr75- Congrats to your boy!! That's gotta be a great feeling!
Kels- Keep working at it, girl! One day at a time. It sounds like you've got a crazy mental addiction to certain unhealthy foods and you might want to consider working with a dietitian. THIS IS OK. However, i'm pulling for you and I believe that as long as you get over those mental hurdles, you can cut all that crap out! Also... you've GOT to talk to your family, ask for their support and get all that junk out of your house. GET RID OF IT. You have obsessive tendencies (as do i) so it needs to be gone.

I'll just say good morning to y'all since i'm sure nobody is up and i'll be one of the last to open my eyes in the morning... my head's gonna HURT! But... it was worth it! ;):bun:celebrate

Thanks, yeah, I do think it’s definitely a mental thing. Although I wonder if you can actually be addicted to sugar. I think I read somewhere you can be. But idk. If so I think I am lol but it wouldn’t be the first time I was addicted to something and I’ve kicked way worse. I think that’s another thing contributing, I’m like I have literally kicked way harder stuff, yet can’t seem to kick simple SUGAR lol ridiculous tbh. And it makes me feel like shit I can’t kick SUGAR of all things hah

There are people fighting with actual drugs and alcohol and way worse/harder shit aha

And a dietician could be a good idea but at the same time, I’ve already done tons of research on nutrition and everything over the years and just took a nutrition class at school last year so I know a pretty good amount about it, not a ton, but enough that I know HOW to eat healthy and like WHAT to eat, I just don’t do it.... :(

Think what I really need is a damn therapist LOL

But I don’t wanna do that either. I kicked another thing without ever seeing one (though in that case, I really probably SHOULD have.... ), so I kinda wanna do it myself.

But I guess maybe I should quit it with that macho, solo, Lone Ranger, lone wolf crap and just admit/accept when I might need help haha

But anyway, think I definitely have both an addiction to it and obsessive tendencies ha I actually am a lot more prone to addiction to things because there is alcoholism on both sides of my family including recently/currently and I’ve already been addicted to one thing. Not alcohol or drugs but ya. And also the phone thing. And sometimes I obsess over/only listen to certain music for a while ha

As for the obsessive thing, I am actually pretty sure I have OCD and anxiety, both of which definitely contribute to overthinking and obsessing over stuff.

Can't sleep. I need all of these glittery chickens. :love

OMG

Good photographer enhancement!
I have a silver Sebright and some Cochin like those.
Even a few cross breeds that look similar....

Someone on Facebook posted a video of their Silkie hen with a Barbie helmet riding in the basket of her bicycle to the song "Bicycle"....and yes the Silkie was wearing a harness safety belt.

Oh wow that sounds hilarious yet adorable.

So sorry! :hit :hugs

There's a ridiculously pregnant doe in the yard. I'm watching her right now. Twins or triplets, definitely not a single.

Not that it makes it any better but seems kinda symbolic one animal (Jett kitty) died and then at the same time new life is being born.

I swear, the end of ducky bath time means more splashes and play just like the end of kid bath time.

I'd needed to put my ducklings in the tub to wash off, and the moment I opened the drain to drain the water they alp spazzed out with the splashing and playing. Just like my two twin toddler brothers.

Aren't Sebrights just stunning?!
I had a rooster but he had to go live on grandma's farm. He was gorgeous.

On the bright side, I am doing well for breakfast. Sort of. Meant to make it at 10:30, didn’t start cooking it until like 11:30, only just eating it now, with cold eggs.

But at least it’s healthy and I refrained from making pancakes, French toast, or even just regular toast even though I wanted to.

I did probably put a bit too much honey on the yogurt  but the yogurt is plain anyway. And I tried to follow the serving size for the yogurt. And I put blueberries and a bit of banana in it. It’s the goat milk yogurt again.

And just water for the drink. Though I usually always drink just water.
