This is exactly what I wanted to know. Thank you!There is nothing wrong with a Nikon or a Canon. Olympus no longer makes a DSLR with an optical view finder. They abandoned this line of cameras in favor of a micro line up that has an electronic viewfinder. The E-5 was their flagship model at the time so their supposed equivalent flagship model at this time appears to be the OM-D E-M1X. These are interchangeable lens cameras which can cause a person to spend a small fortune between the lenses and the camera body.
For a really nice point and shoot camera that will do both macro and telephoto, you can get the Panasonic Lumix DC-FZ80 (the latest version of the camera @BantyChooks uses) for under $300. It has an optical zoom range of 60X.
