Chicken chicks to the chicken tractor this week. Or else! Gotta shuffle cages to get the quail situated. Quail poop. Chickens poop more.

My one quail...doesn't poop much.
I only have to change the paper towels once a day.

Chicken have hit that teenage growth spurt. Food consumption shot up. They are shooting up. Poop production jumped. It is easier to move them than the poop. That and they jump on everything, then poop. Water, food, decorations, me.

Quail are 5 days old. They went from 1 cup of food to 3 cups a day.
Chickens are 4 weeks old and went from 2 quarts to a gallon a day this last week.
Guess who had to run to the feed store.

The white quail will run at me and out of the cage. I can only catch one. The others don't charge. Side by side comparisons are interesting.

I have been drinking more since I started making wine. Even so, I never have more than one glass a day but more often it is one glass every couple of weeks.

And IMO $400 for a mix breed puppy is ludicrous!

I agree! It’s some kind of wire terrier or something. This is a Jack/Chi. Or at least MY Jack/Chi. This is Marley and she is 10 yrs old. We’ve had her since she was 1 yr old. She is blind in one eye (she had a melting ulcer and lost her vision. We were able to save her eye tho instead of it having to be removed.) She loves all people and is quick with her tongue so you have to be careful around her lol! I don’t know how “designer” she is but she’s special to me.

Went to get the chicken tractor ready and the wasps were in residence. We evicted them and now wait relocating. Good year for wasps. Good year for squash vine borers too. The pumpkins are dying. One more night before housing changes.

Our garden is pretty much kaput. The only thing that has come up is squash that is remnants from last yr. Go figure! No cucumbers. No carrots. No Lima beans. No corn. No melons. No salad mix stuff. Nothing. I’d like to blame it on a bad batch of seeds, which is possible, but it’s probably just the ground condition and weather. Is just a bummer. And of the Nanking Cherry shrub/tree, the golden raspberry, the blueberry and the blackberry bushes I planted, only the blackberries have grown. The others haven’t grown any. Not even a leaf. I swear I have a black thumb! We had some hellacious storms come through tonight. Was under a tornado warning for a bit but not anymore. They seem to have passed on by. Was a fast moving system. But we got some strong winds, some hail and a TON of lightning that knocked out power to a lot of people. We’re still without power. No telling when it will come back on. I have to sleep with a cpap machine so I hope it comes back on soon. Speaking of which, it literally just came on. Yahoo! Now I can go to bed lol. It’s been a long day.
