➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I eat, sleep, and breathe benzene rings.
I knew this month was going to be hard on my mental health. Literally the only thing keeping me going is that after Monday, I’ll never have to do organic chemistry again.

Oh, right. She asked for my current grade in ochem2 (96% :yesss:) and proof of registration for phys2. I guess this means I might’ve got in? Maybe? Why else would she be asking, right?

I don’t wanna go to class. :hit
:hugs:hugs:hugs

Have have 5 beautiful fluffy and active wittle webbies! :celebrate We lost the one that we are assuming was attached still to the egg and was buried in the pine shavings when we found it. :hit Poor thing. So we started out with 8. 1 died/quit on us and we lost 2 at hatch with 5 surviving. 5 new baby fluffs! The hardest thing for me is to let momma be momma. Because I want to be momma. Lol! I will, here in a little bit since I haven't been awake for very long, end up going out there and make sure the little ones know where their water and food is. That will make me feel better. Then I will let mom handle everything from there on. They are so stinking cute!

How are the dogs?

They’re good! Theia is being a crazy goober because she’s bored and has been cooping herself up with all the storms lately. She’s really settled in, she’s such a lovebug and a total daddy’s girl.
Triumph is back with my parents at the moment. He’s old. :( The drive to and from our house is surprisingly rough on him, so I’m trying to minimize that. I hope he doesn’t miss me as much as I miss him.

Thank you everyone for all of the love. :hugsI'm just so excited. But who isn't excited about new little fluffies, right? Doing things a little differently this time around with a momma brooding the ducklings instead of doing so myself. We're trying to adapt as we go. The next things to figure out is: How long to keep mom penned up with the little ones. When and how to let mom out without the little ones getting out, and whether or not she will even do so. When to let littles out to explore. We may have to maybe fence off a little section somehow. Idk. We have a little time yet to figure it out. Until then, this is a peek at where they are at now.

AWWWW!!!

Hi everyone
Tes hang in there hon. It'll be worth it in the long run. Just keep your final goal in mind and you'll be able to zoom right through. :hugs

I got a pair of muscovy babies the other day. They're so cute. I've now got a bizarre pen going that is actually working well. 2 goat kids, 1 cornish giant pullet (roo sneaking into the pen and attacking the other one until she died), 2 2.5 month old pekin drakes & 2 young muscovies (no idea on sex yet). The cornish are really growing on me. She always comes straight over to me and sits beside me when I go into the pen.

Got 2 coats of poly on the bedroom floor yesterday. It makes the floor really pop. A couple more coats and I should be able to start getting furniture in there!

Hope that everyone is doing great!

If you notice the shavings getting too wet around the waterer, you can make a water catcher under the waterer...especially when they begin bathing in the waterer.

I used a plastic file box with a lid. Drilled 1/4" holes in the top, and put a piece of PVC pipe inside to help support the weight of the waterer.
The splashes from the ducklings playing in the water go into the tray beneath. Easy to rinse out with a hose when I'm cleaning and changing their water.
Someone on the duck thread suggests a 1/2 by 1/2 inch wire screen over the water tray. I was hesitant to have the tiny feet getting caught.
