The sky was gorgeous last night. Pictures don’t do it justice. It was sooo pink despite looking kinda orangey here haha



And saw this guy today. I think it’s an Oriole?? Maybe not. Idk. And then he flew off with what I think was his mate.

And hm, that’s true. I’m sure a lot of people just didn’t clean the cages enough of whatever but yeah, I think it’s the musk they have that people mean and strong poops but idk haha but of course they’re gonna have strong poops eating the literal garbage the pet stores feed and recommend.

I love animals but I don’t think I like wet dog LOL barns aren’t so bad haha

I don’t have the time (or spare cash) for rats or ferrets right now unfortunately. Between cleaning and playtime, they both take a lot of energy and I don’t have much spare time these days.
Besides, I’m not quite ready for another fuzzy after Peter’s traumatic death. I’ll have them again someday though.

Awww yeah I’ve heard they bite but at least it’s just okay usually and not vicious? Haha wonder if they could be trained. Probably not.

They’re very very much like kittens. They flip all over the place and will nip at you to get a reaction. Life is all about playtime.
They’re intelligent and can definitely be trained, but the short attention span tends to be a problem. I had my rats better trained than my ferret.

Fair point. Even above zero is 'hot' when it's winter!
This week has been hot by any standard, though. It hit 99*F in town. Might have gotten up to 90 here, even. Poor birds. Poor ME. I have no idea how you guys live.

I have to wear jeans for my summer classes because of lab safety rules. I swear I lose half my body weight in sweat walking to class every day.

Maybe you could get some mice? Or a couple rats? So they keep each other company?

And omg that sounds miserable!! When I used to horseback ride I hated that we had to wear long pants and boots and a helmet even in summer lol

Mice aren’t quite as personable. If I were to get a “look but don’t touch” pet it’d probably be finches.
I actually was looking into getting rats again. The main thing stopping me is 1) I can’t find any breeders or rescues near me, and 2) they just don’t live very long. It’s like losing a little pocket-sized dog every two years. Joke all you want (ahem, kiki), but it really actually sucks and I just don’t wanna deal with that right now.

Also, I’m planning on building IV (bearded dragon) a new fancy shmancy tank when summer classes end. I’m drawing up plans and everything.
Maybe rats will be next summer’s project.
