➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I got my next pretty little pullet egg. My EE Sunny laid this beauty.

My very first blue/green egg! :celebrateAt first I thought it was blue but when I got it under better light, I think I see some greenish tone in there. I just know it’s purty! :loveSunny gave us fits yesterday! I had to get her back in the pen area, and I’m not exaggerating, 6 times! When my hubby got home from work last night we ended up putting up some netting over the gate where she was jumping out. Hoping that fixes it. I said to him this morning, maybe that was why she was so hell bent on exploring yesterday. She was looking for a private nesting area away from everyone. Idk. I hope the netting helps. :fl
It's beautiful!

Thank you, thank you! It seems silly to be so excited over an egg but I am. Our Lakeshore Egger, Buttercup, was sitting in the nest boxes a lot yesterday. I thought for sure she was going to lay an egg yesterday and when she didn't I thought, well she's going to be the next layer. Nope. Surprise, it was Sunny. Jasmine was first and now 1 week later, now Sunny. The others will be along in no time.

@Tesumph any chance of taking the coop apart if you can't take the fence apart? Or rent a crane and go over the fence. Helicopters are fun. Pricy, but fun
Yup, I figure either the coop or the fence is getting broken down.
I’m nervous about needing large trucks with chains or tractors to move it. Nothing screams “I secretly have chickens” like a bunch of rednecks dragging a chicken coop through the neighborhood.
It wasn't much fun.
Yuh huh... sure it wasn’t.

Okay quail are going to have to be on hold for a while or maybe indefinitely because it is confirmed..... I am the worst damn chicken (and animal in general) owner ever. :hit :hit just found a dead chicken :hit
Oh no.

Found a baby or adult dead?
Details missy.

:hugs What happened?

Adult thankfully but she was such a great chicken.

I went out to the coop to refill their food cause it was low and I had just bought more and that's when I found her. By the door. Rigor had already set it which is why I feel so awful because I didn't even notice, I just assumed she was laying yesterday. I think maybe the heat got to her. She was almost 4 and kind of fat. I just feel like I could have saved her maybe if I had noticed but I’ve been so preoccupied with everything yesterday and today I’ve barely even had time to take care of myself let alone them. I just feel like the worst chicken owner ever. :hit
