Figured I should update:

Ended up staying in until like 2:30

BUT!

Didn’t end up going off anywhere and instead went out to check the chickens again then. Ended up staying out for like 2 hours and only just came in maybe 10 minutes ago. :lau

Weeded the garden. Or at least like half of it. There were a lot of weeds in that half though.

Then decided to finally plant the peas I’ve been meaning to. I bought them with. A bunch of other plants like late June early July but never planted them  planted all the others but not them so they kinda took root where they were sitting and were doing well surprisingly, flowering and stuff, for a while, but now had gotten really dried out and were dying. So anyway, finally moved them to a different, wide open section of the garden and planted them. There were only 6 spaces in the tray but multiple plants in some of the sections so by the time I separated them all out/gently pulled apart the roots there were 10 plants. Some huge and thriving and others smaller but still alive. Anyway, got all 10 planted. Also picked 2 more squash and a couple hot peppers. The squash is producing sooooo many squash. We are overrun LOL the plant is HUGE!! But for some reason, some of the leaves are dying and I just noticed today the stem looks almost like rotten? And the base of the leaves that are dying are all mushy so idk what’s going on. But it’s still producing tons of squash.

Anyway, I then proceeded to give the chickens an extra bowl of food and refill the water again and a smaller bowl of water even though the water is barely lowered from when I filled it this morning lol

Threw Blackie off the nest and kept everyone outside while I added the extra bowl of food inside.

Anyway, I am exhausted and drenched in sweat and my back is sore from all the digging/planting/bending so I’m going to shower and then my mom and I are off yet again lol but this time only for the night.

Haven’t caught up yet.
Taking the day off before hubby goes back to work. Road trip to my parent’s house to hang out with the pups and spend the day making soap. :)

So freaking cute!! I think I already said that but I’m saying it again LOL

Whatever time you wake up each day don't touch your phone for 8 hours.
Do something else for 8 hours and then reward yourself by using your phone after you've done something else for 8 hours.

8 hours is such a long time! :th

That grandpa face.:th

X2 lol

Ziggy got his final kitten shots this morning. Little dude is growing up... but still has giant donkey ears compared to the rest of him. Not sure if they'll ever fit :lau

Awwww

Love the pups! Love making soap!

X2!! Well, never made soap, but it looks fun lol

Aww. We need a picture!

Witch Hazel and Pomme Tom get their second series next week.

X2 and awww. Need a picture of them too!! Lol

Awesome!! Gorgeous day and gorgeous horses haha

Had some storms come through yesterday. Was crazy lightning! Strong winds. It downed some good size branches and a dead tree. One in the duckling area, a couple in the dog pen and 1 that wasn't by anything. The 2 in the dog pen downed the fence from the weight but thankfully once hubby took the chainsaw to it, he and my son were able to right the fence back up. The dogs don't try to get out so it will be ok for now until we can make it a bit more sturdy. The one in the duckling area came over the fence and bent the edge of their pool. Thankfully didn't bust the pool tho. The fence was fine over there. Spent the day picking up small branches and twigs.

I have a new layer. It's Daisy, my Austra White.

She is laying a cute little cream colored pullet egg. :celebrate Now I am just waiting on Hazel (welsummer), Iris (blue, er I mean black, andalusian) and Violet (blue ameraucana). Violet is still so tiny! I think she is going to be a late bloomer.

Oh, and speaking of ducklings... 1 girl and 4 boys. :th Out of 7 eggs. :barnie I have ZERO doubt. The one girl quacks and grunts all the time. The boys are all raspy. So I will be giving away 4 males. I'm not going to have these processed. I don't regret doing the others but I think we'll just give them away this time around. I have to say, I am a bit disappointed. I was hoping for at least a couple girls. Oh well. They are pretty bonded with each other so I will give it a little more time before getting rid of the boys. They are only 6 weeks old at the moment.

Side question for y'all.... those of you that process your own birds. Do you have special equipment or nah? Like, do you really need a scalder or a feather plucking machine? Are they just helpful/bonus or definitely must have if possible? I think a cone would be the humane and useful way to go. Of course a very sharp knife. What are the basic items you would recommend to someone?

It’s been good! Much better now that we are finally getting things settled and fixed up. The drive wasn’t too horrible after two months of getting used to it.

I’m having trouble with my memory so I don’t know if I’ve already posted about our new rescue mini? Maybe? Hopefully not.

Anyways her name is Sugar.

Welcome back! Glad your summer project went well and is over. Glad you stayed safe! Such a terrifying thing to go through! I can't even imagine. Scary thing as well to go through with the fainting. I know I'd want to know what the heck is going on so it doesn't happen again. I mean, what if it happened while you were driving? All of us on here are gonna be like, "Did you ever go to the dr and figure out why you fainted like you did?" :old It's because we care. :hugs I think you had briefly mentioned Sugar before but I am not sure. She is such a sweet looking thing! :love Since she is a rescue, does she have a forever home with y'all or are you rehabilitating and then finding a forever home or what? Do you have any other mini's?

I heat the water in pots on the stove, my hands are my feather pluckers, bird catchers and holders. My hatchet is my tool for head removal and of course a sharp knife is always a requirement.
