➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I don't know how to get rid of it. It looks like it's growing out of the stem or root of this bush that we have.
When I have to remove it, I cover my arms and face with soap lather and let it dry. Then I put on long sleeves and pants.
I slip a bag big enough to encase the plant and tie it tight at the base. Then dig out the plant. By the roots. Rake up all debris and dispose of it.
The seeds can be spread by birds that eat them.

Whoops.... I was about to say it didn’t look like it to me.. ignore me :lau

I would probably walk right up to it and get poison ivy. :lau

It kinda looks like our raspberry plants but they have thorns lol and the leaves are pointier.

I thought pi was pointier and shinier?

Clearly I know nothing. :lau
Poison ivy can have a variety of leaf shapes from smooth to scalloped. It's all equally horrible.

@Texas Kiki Kiki whatever touches that can pick up the oil and transfer it. Wear disposable gloves if you handle it. Put it in a bag for the trash. Wash your exposed skin and your clothes, gloves, etc.
Pets and free ranging chickens that run thru it can transfer the oil to people who pet them.
I'm very sensitive to poison ivy. Even dry leaves and stems have the oil. Inhaling the smoke from burning it can be dangerous too.
Brush killer strength weed killers will knock it down.
It's in my front yard...where no animals can get near it.

I think I'm going to take a shovel and try and dig it up.

All of this. And be prepared because killing that bit you can see doesn't eliminate the underground network of roots. It's absolutely everywhere here and I keep the weed killer handy to spray it whenever I see it but then I'll find it again. And again. Sometimes it just sprouts up in the middle of the lawn. Evil weed.

It is horrible stuff!! I once had it on half my face and arm and everything cause I had it on my hand or arm and itched my face..... had to go on steroids cause it was pretty bad and also close to my eye. And I think I had to use like oatmeal or baking soda pastes and stuff on my face. It was horrible. So uncomfortable. Never again lol that was like 8th grade I think.

Touch it and find out.

Excellent idea and plan.

Oh wow. I never knew that. I thought it had a specific shape haha pointy and shiny and 3 leaf clusters and white flowers.

Good idea!

That's the Mex's job.

OMG that is amazing!! I’m jealous haha do you really have no poison ivy!? In the entire state!?
I have been in many parts of the state and never have seen any here. I am familiar with poison ivy having grown up in SW PA.

I also forgot, no opossums although they claim they can show up in southern parts of the state. Those that have been found had short tails and ears due to frostbite.

Wow that is awesome!! Seems I need to move to Wyoming then. :lau

And that’s a definite benefit!!
