Sorry you had to go through that ordeal. I remember when our mare impaled the bottom of her jaw on a nail. We didn’t find it in time and she had a nice, big ol’ abscess.

70 during the day, and a cool 68 at night. Sometimes lower but no higher.
We all sleep hot in this house, except for the lizards (they have ceramic bulbs to compensate for the arctic temps).

It's off during the night and at 72 or 74 during the day, if it's needed.

Also sometimes when I first get in my room, I’m freezing, but once I’m under the blanket (comforter) I’m fine. My mom always says I should turn it up/am going to freeze but I like having it an ice box LOL sometimes I don’t even have my heat on in fall and winter or very low. I just prefer to have a bunch of blankets haha plus the dry heat makes me kinda sick sometimes aha so I prefer blankets

Took the pups to the vet today. Triumph is finally on an NSAID for longterm pain management of his bad leg.
Paid for a kidney and liver screening and he came back clean. Big weight off my shoulders. Xrays and/or cancer screenings would be the next step, but we’re satisfied with this for now.

Theia got dropped off (aka abandoned) to get her teeth done. I always worry when they go under general anesthesia, but the vet said she did fine. Had a big old abscess under her back molar that we knew about, glad that’s taken care of.
Hubby is on his way to pick up the little druggie now.

first hot month will be about the same as you... then I get the electric bill .. so I turn it off CA during the day about noon and let it coast until after dark. Leave the bedroom window run though

We also usually have thick curtains and try to keep the curtains shut and lights off and everything to keep it dark and cool and the sun stays out and it does seem to help a lot haha

Glad Triumph is on meds now and hopefully he will get some relief! And it must be a relief to you to know the tests came back clean! Maybe eventually you could do the cancer test but it seems he’s fine for now which is good.

And aww poor girl!! Glad she got that abscess taken care of!! That sounds painful!!

And I remember when Luna was out under once for shaving a couple mats and some shots (really quite stupid and she shouldn’t have needed to be put under. Both other vets we tried after including current one didn’t need to do any of that and the current one has even given her full lion cut twice before and she is fine so somethings a little fishy lol she was like I don’t wanna stress her out so she’s gonna need to be brought in/go under for the shot (she was a mobile vet and at our house). She couldn’t even catch her/hold her down and give her her vaccine haha granted she was a little more wiley then but still, she was pretty calm that day and I’m pretty sure she even had her between her legs, but she was stressed or something?? Wiggly? Idk. Then she didn’t even get all the mats, missed one. Anyway, my point is about the drugged animals. Luna came back so drugged lol it was hilarious.

But meanwhile the other vets, in a scary vet office on a table, all I had to do was rub her chin/head for the shots lol barely held her and he noticed a little mat and pulled the clippers out right then and turned them on and clipped it without her even being held at all and with the loud clippers haha and the current vets she is fine with too and let’s them do whatever they want to her, stick their fingers in her mouth, weigh her, whatever, she didn’t even want to leave the scale lol and the groomers all say all she does is make a little noise for the clipping but is fine. She’s an extremely docile cat. Shouldn’t have needed to be sedated for a vaccine lol

But anyway, I shouldn’t be bashing her, she was really nice, but the drugged animal bit just reminded me of that incident and how ridiculous it was. She also charged a fortune and the office was in the basement of her house?? Now I think she has a real office finally but still. Whole thing was weird. She was fabulous with the dog though and he loved her but we switched vets cause she was expensive. Actually mostly cause he got injured and we needed one fast and then stuck with the new one. She also said we could spray him at like 4 months cause he was “plenty big enough” and humping everything and we didn’t know better. I still feel bad because soon after that in the following year I did a lot of research and realized how bad early neutering is for large breed dogs (he wound up 140 pounds, Black Lab/Great Pyrenees mix), and he had an ACL/tendon/leg injury and those are more common with early neutered dogs they say. And the neuter was crazy expensive too but I guess she must be pretty good or she wouldn’t still be in business aha

My sweet baby.. she’s so drunk.
She’s resting in one of her “caves” right now. There’s blood all over her face and she can barely keep her eyes open. I’m struggling to resist cuddling her to death.
