Ah shoot. There’s a bunch of words I say differently depending on what precedes it...I think.

Take the word ENVELOPE. Do you say ON-velope or IN-velope? Depends, right?

What about the word THE. Do you say THEE or THUH? Once again it depends.

Now to make this more confusing. This is what I say at different times:

THEE IN-velope and
THUH ON-velope

I’m sure it has something to do with how my 3rd grade teacher taught phonics, but lawd, I’m tired and going to bed. G’nite @Texas Kiki...and everyone else

I definitely say on-velope consistently. When I think in-velope I think of the verb. But I definitely mix up the and thuh all the time.
