I had to drop my dog Buster off at the vets to be groomed 1 last time before winter season. I never did go to TSC yesterday so I went this morning. They had chicks on sale for $1 each. The temptation was real y'all! I thought about grabbing a couple to give to Priscilla to see if that would help her urge for babies. But honestly, I don't need anymore chickens. I truly don't. And the odds of me getting a couple/few more and then getting rid of them just isn't likely. And did I mention that I don't need any more chickens? So I got my pine shavings and walked away. Priscilla is just going to have to come to the realization that babies are not in her future this year. Idk, maybe next yr. But definitely not this yr.

How does everyone keep having sale chicks!? Ours are still all full priced.

that is too cute! The teenager is a girl but the twins are boys and the youngest is a girl. So makes it almost plausible but i doubt she would go for it. I had made a decision for this yr and think ill have to stick to it. Gathering supplies. Cant say which until the big reveal

Thats alright. Maybe when shes like 18 she would do it for her little siblings, about the time i remember getting sentimental and realizing i wouldnt be with my family much, as i entered adulthood.

That hair spray dye makes it stiff like that. A good wash, twice, and detangler and she should be alright as long as her caregiver is patient. As u noticed wks ago in my avatar i have had unruly hair all my life.

They do look like fun and I wish SO BAD I could have them. I've wanted Button quail for a while now. I just have plenty of obligations at the moment and don't need any more mouths to feed or things to take care of. If I were like you guys and raised for meat I'd probably do it in a heartbeat with some larger quail. I just haven't worked up the nerve to go there yet.

Ziggy apparently likes the rain. He was super excited to go out and he came back in sopping wet and shook like a dog. I've never had a cat act like this lunatic does. Maybe I should take him down to the lake and see if he wants to swim.

OMG lol maybe you should harness train him and take him on walks and swimming and such. Some people do that with some cats. Certain cats like adventuring and Ziggy seems like he would be one lol you could take him to stores or on walks or hikes

How do I set it where I don't get an email every time I get an alert? Do I have to turn off my alerts all together?

I think there is a setting specifically for emails.

You know, I don't think I'd be too upset over that "olive" Egger either. That's a pretty shade and a good bit off the beaten path even if it wasn't the direction you were expecting!

Just pulled out a bunch of tomato plants that were kinda taking over everything and killing the grass and some other stuff (cause I’m a dummy and didn’t cage them or anything and they fell over/have been dying/pointed towards the sun ).

Hate to waste them but it looked like shit, they were too big/tangled to cage at this point (didn’t realize quite how big till we pulled them out but some must be seriously 6 feet long!!), were kinda dying anyway, and also they were growing into everything else and also the chipmunks kept eating them!!

And they were just volunteer ones anyway so not wasting money.

And also they were cherry tomatoes which we really don’t eat anyway and there were already sooo many.

So anyway, pulled them all out, and pulled the ripe tomatoes and ones we could save. Rotted or cracked or bitten ones we obviously chucked into the grass/weeds behind the garden for the chipmunks to eat. They have already been eating tons of them.

Next step I gotta rake up some of the tomatoes/weeds/mess that’s left behind.

And I gotta dig out the HUGE clumps of grass that have taken over too now that I can actually get to them.

Gotta be careful though since some of the beans are all tangled/mingled in there and were intermingled with the tomatoes too.

And the grass is long so who knows what the heck is in there haha

And then after that I also gotta get cages or something for the rest of the tomatoes since they are falling over too as well cages or poles for the beans and maybe the eggplant too as it’s pretty heavy.

Also gotta go through the pulled vines and pull all the green tomatoes off. Might be able to make fried green tomatoes or something so we don’t waste them???

But for now I am going to go to the store and get some sweet potatoes and kale to make a recipe Kiki sent me/told me to make that looks delicious haha

And then when I get back I might finish working in the garden or I’ll make dinner and do it later. Idk. Kinda started working on it by accident haha looked horrible and my dad was out there so decided to just do it right then. But I want to get the ingredients now so I don’t have to go out later cause I know I will be tired later.

Anyway, also welded some around the plants next to the chicken run since there were a lot surrounding them. Gave the weeds and dirt clumps to the chickens. They loved it haha

Watered the garden and moved one of my potted peppers a bit more into the sun. Gave the basil a ton of water since I’ve been forgetting to water everything and it was really wilted but still green so hopefully it will perk back up.

Now tomorrow I think I’ll finish even more stuff out there. Either finish the work in the garden or clean the chicken coop or something.

Funny thing is all the inside work, which is probably a lot easier, I can never seem to do, and have been putting off for forever, but yet I can go outside not intending to do anything (seriously, was just gonna check the chickens) and wind up weeding and pulling plants or staking them or doing whatever and sweating/working my ass off completely by accident. idk why that is. Maybe the outside stuff is more fun for me or something? Idk. I think it’s also largely driven though by the fact that I don’t want it to look like shit for the wedding haha so was trying to clean it up a bit cause I’ve seriously neglected the garden this year. it’s all doing fine but looks like shit haha

Thank you! TBH I'm not mad at the color or the situation any more as I've given up on my Dream flock of rainbow layers. I really wanted pink eggs, even started a thread on here asking who'd gotten them and what breeds laid them. Just to get an idea if one breed was more prominent than others and to see pics of what everyone was calling pink. I just hated that I FINALLY got an OE chick and an F2 at that, and her eggs STILL weren't Olive!
