Now all I can think about is Apu on the Simpsons! One of my childhood memories was watching Simpsons with my father and brothers every Sunday I think it was.

Here's to his continued comfort, whatever time period that may be. I agree, quality over quantity.
I had to put my 7 year old Doberman down when his prostate cancer was no longer manageable. My vet was awesome. She was very straight forward and did tell me that yes, they could treat for cancer, and no, it wouldn't work. Said she had to put her own dog down for the same reason.
Take heart. Every dog is different. Andy, the best golden in the world (sorry, Triumph, you are second) lived 16 years. Sure, the last few he moved like a Chinese dragon, but he was a happy dog. He lived his best life. So shall Triumph.
If vets were in it for the money, they would’ve gone to medical school.I like vets that aren't just in it for the money. Yeah, they could charge you thousands but being honest is always best. I like that vet!
Some are in it for money, I've known many that have the big houses and fancy cars. I worked for a veterinarian as a vet tech for a few years until I started doing grooming. Thanks Conan. Here’s to long and happy lives for our good puppos.

But here is the white pearl with the safety pins.
I couldn't find the gold pins in a big size so had to use the silver. I braided the wire for the wings and used little glass beads for the halo. I think she is a close interpretation of your grandmother's pretty angel.

If they make enough to live comfortably then more power to them, but the mass majority are swimming in debt. Some are in it for money, I've known many that have the big houses and fancy cars. I worked for a veterinarian as a vet tech for a few years until I started doing grooming.
It might depend on location too. I think the vet I worked for was the only one for a few towns so everyone went to him. I miss being in surgeries and also learning a ton every single day. The traveling clinics or home vets are my go to now. I'm not fond of the vets where I live and neither are most of the people I know.If they make enough to live comfortably then more power to them, but the mass majority are swimming in debt.
Yea, it takes some shopping around to find one that really clicks with you and your animals. It might depend on location too. I like the veterinarians that run the traveling clinics, they seem to be more on my level and understand my experience with animals. The one that is local, they kind of push stuff at you and I know a lot of it is unnecessary. They also give distemper yearly instead of doing it every 3 years and I don't like that!Yea, it takes some shopping around to find one that really clicks with you and your animals.
My biggest issue with vets is that I feel like I’m being talked down to a lot of the time. Drives me crazy. But I also understand that most of the clients that walk through the door are pretty oblivious to the health of their animals, so I’m sure that takes a toll on bedside manner.
I have had some that were less conscious of my money than others, but I can’t stand the “vets are crooks and thieves” mentality—not that you’re saying that. I just hear it so often, it’s unfair judgement on an already difficult and mentally taxing profession.
Anyways. The one I went to Thursday was lovely. They talked to me straight and were upfront about finances. I’ll definitely be back.
I’ve never met a vet who wasn’t in it for the animals. Not that they’re all perfect, I’ve definitely met some bad apples as you say who put a bad taste in my mouth. But I personally don’t think that’s the main issue.I think some people think that about veterinarians because they've had a bad experience. People need to realize that just because they've had one bad apple it doesn't make the entire orchard bad...
