I (personally) think the problem is that we expect human-level medical services for pet-level prices. And most people don’t have pet insurance.
so people are footed a huge bill for a professional opinion, examinations, imaging, anesthesia, etc. and go “what! If you
really loved animals, you would treat them for
free!” Which, yknow, imagine saying that to literally any other medical professional. It’d be insane. And yet still.. somehow.. the majority of veterinarians are in debt and far from upper-class.
And no, the attitude toward vets is much the same here. People believe they overcharge and just want to milk you dry. I think most people share that sentiment.. I just strongly disagree with most people.
