➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I can see deep fried turkey becoming a family tradition once we do it next year. We also want to try smoked turkey in a propane smoker. There are so many different ways to cook a turkey.
It’s the dog’s favourite time of year too. We don’t feed them scraps, but they’ll be licking up spilt oil until Christmas.

We are going to do deep fried turkey next year with turkeys that we are raising. I had it before when I was in high school, I think it was the best turkey I've ever had.
just in case you dont know. Put Turkey in pot fill pot with water to just covering Turkey Pour water in something now you know how much oil to use. If you already know please disregard. Life safety first

For first timers...Good idea to dry the insideiful the pot so water droplets don't cause oil spatter. And use the cooker out doors...too many chances for a garage or house fire if used too close to a structure.

@Kiki I'm not cooking the whole dinner, taking a turkey breast, Angel Food cake and egg custards to the sister-in-law's. Our 3 girls have plans with their in-laws.

Turkey
Ham
Seafood dressing (oyster, crabmeat)
My potato salad
My daughter's potato salad (potato salad cookoff)
Baked macaroni with penne'
Baked beans
Greenbean casserole
Caccoon cookies (my specialty)
Horchata (another one of my specials)
Candied yams
Pacan pie
And I imagine other stuff
We had a cook-off with potato salads (my mom and me). Everyone ate my southern red potato salad and liked it more than hers. She does egg and stuff in hers.

I liked hers as a kid though.
