➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Hey.. pray for poor Theia, y’all.
She’s still not passing anything but liquid. I’m more and more certain there is a blockage. Calling the vet tomorrow. $$$ :(
I am so sorry Tes! :hugs
Is there any sort of home remedy that works for mammals? olive oil and applesauce or something like people use for impacted reptiles???

Sending good vibes and well wishes your way!!!

I’m reading all sorts of conflicting information online. Some say not to feed anything, others say to feed a LOT to get things moving.
We’ve been feeding her normal kibble and lots of plain bread soaked in water. It’s just really weird.
I thought about giving her pepto but it can cause dark stools and I’m trying to monitor for blood (nothing so far). I feel helpless.

I am so sorry my friend. Nothing is worse than having to sit around and just wait for the vet to open :hugs

If there is no blood and no evidence of pain then I think that is a good sign. Hang in there.

Aww so sorry Tes!! Maybe plain white rice and boiled chicken would help? Maybe no kibble and just the rice for a bit? I’ve read it helps with dogs with upset stomachs. I know you don’t really believe in treats or home cooked stuff or whatever but I think maybe for a couple meals or just like a day or two of something bland to help settle her stomach would be okay and may help.

We’ve been giving her chicken (sans bones :he) and rice too, along with bread and kibble. But I’m scared it’s just building up somewhere and making things worse. I’ve never seen an impaction without vomiting.

I was starting to freak out just cause Tad hadn’t pooped for a long time. I can’t even imagine what you are going through :hugs I hope you are able to get her to the vet tomorrow and get some answers.
Hubby is freaking out more than I am. He started talking about giving her up to a shelter if she was dying and needed emergency surgery or something.. I don’t even know, I didn’t let him finish that train of thought.
:th
she’s his baby.

That makes sense!! But the fact she isn’t vomiting is maybe a good sign, right? If you’ve already been doing the rice then maybe just letting her fast for a day, no food, maybe just water, to get what’s in there out might be good??? Then maybe only rice and chicken, no kibble, for a day or two after?? Hopefully it gets resolved soon. :fl

How is Triumph? Better??
