It really is. I am confused by the metal coffins. Those won't break down. Kind of like the Egyptian stone sarcophagi. Around for millennia.

I also wonder what part of our society will last. Egyptian pyramids. Burial mounds of England and Americas. We shall leave football stadia. And roads.

On our trip to New Orleans we took a tour....included a pass thru one of the older cemeteries. We were told that when a family member dies a coffin is used for the funeral service. Then the typical family sarcophagus allows a section for a wood box to be slid in and the deceased decentigrates into the subsoil over the next year. Thus the saying "mourning lasts a year and a day".

Old cemeteries are so interesting. Sounds like a cool tour!

Yes, very much like that but using liquid nitrogen for the freezing bit.

In the description of space burial or chipper/shredder or as described in this link.....neither addresses the residual bacteria or disease that can survive freezing.
Our legacy to the universe could be a viral wipeout like measles to an unexposed newly discovered culture.

But I like that we are headed in the direction of a greener disposal of my human shell.

It was....our bus driver was from NOLA and was well versed in the history and facts...blended with a sense of humor and style. Some family crypts have been used since NOLA began.

On a lighter note...caught the cats playing on the treadmill instead of their new cat castle....go figure.

I found a cat tree that I wanted at Sam's club, it was huge! I'll probably end up buying it after Christmas.

some of the lyrics for you nutters that don't jam this kind of music.

Cause Life is Too $hort, you gotta Get In Where You Fit In
Stop looking for what you never seem to find
It ain't what you think you got to read between the lines
'Cause life ain't long.....
know you tired of being broke just hanging out
You got a lot a dreams but you can't get out
The first thing you need to do is set yourself some goals
Think positive, everything else is old
And work hard, never stop hustlin.

Darn, I thought you were going for the Short People song. My 5' SIL takes great offense at it. At least she claims to be 5' tall.
