➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

When I went to go visit my aunt and "uncle", I wanted to take a picture with their Chow. It was an abused dog to begin with and was very shy towards people, I think I was the only person that dog ever paid attention to. It wanted me to pet it and everything, they kept cautioning me that the dog would bite me or whatnot

The dog wasn't cooperating for pictures so my "uncle" decided that he would beat it in front of me. Let me tell you I have not talked to him since and that was 14 years ago. I got into his face and everything over it, I would have rather him hit me than that dog.

I honestly wouldn't have cared if he beat the living bleep out of me for defending the dog.

Let's just say that morning my "uncle" was drinking beer and it was 9 am :hmm he was fully intoxicated by the time it happened. The dog got re-homed shortly after that event.

My grandfather had a dog when I was about 7 years old that had a broken nose and the person that was in charge to watch that dog while my grandfather was gone was my "uncle." I'm assuming that he broke my grandfather's dog's nose being aggressive with it :rantMy grandfather never trusted that man and I never will either!

Some people are just not meant to have any animals in their life.
People who beat animals have been known to move on to weak people. Never trust one. Did he have kids? Did they have a lot of broken bones, or his wife?

Sooooo Frank got his leg caught in a storm drain today...

He’s fine, I’m fine, but he would NOT let me help and kept screaming/crying and biting. Which terrified me not because he was being vicious or anything (I know he wasn’t; just terrified and in a blind fit and probably totally unaware of what he was doing) but that he was going to injure himself since he was still stuck and twisting around. But thankfully he managed to pull his leg out in his own. Otherwise I’m not sure what I would have done.

Anyway, I’m just glad I had my glove on or else it could have been worse and I’m glad he is totally fine. Was holding it up a tad at first but I think he was just traumatized cause he started putting full weight on it almost immediately after and was able to walk home.

Storm drain was still covered in snow. No one saw it.

Poor Libby had no idea what was going on either. Just that her brother was suddenly freaking out.

And for clarification, this dog is the SWEETEST, nicest dog in the world and I’m like his favorite person, we all agree probably even more than his own owners LOL he would NEVER bite me or intentionally hurt me so that’s how I know he must have been REALLY scared and/or totally out of it. He might have even thought that I did it because I was on the other end of the leash lol

He is a very anxious and scared dog in general though even though he’s come a long way so I think that probably didn’t help. Libby probably would have let me help but he just totally shut down and went into a blind fit. But seemed fine moments later and seems to have totally forgotten about it haha

And he didn’t cry or anything when I squeezed his paw/manipulated the leg to check for injuries at home. So I think he will be just fine but did possibly twist it a bit in there so I will continue to watch him and limit activity and make sure but I think he will be fine.

And I am making sure to clean the bites well.

Bruise under the finger nail lol the bites honestly don’t really hurt. It’s moving my fingers LOL thankfully only my thumb and one knuckle on the other hand hurt to move.

:( ouch. I’m sorry Kelsey, that sucks.
Please make sure you scrub it well with lots of soap and water. It doesn’t look too deep but keep an eye on it and please go to the doctor if you’re worried.

You don’t have to defend the goofball, accidents happen. :hugs Glad you’re both okay..ish.

His wife is my aunt. I don't talk to them. She was my favorite aunt until he came into the picture. He has an older kid I think, I don't know anything about them. I distanced myself big time from them.

That stinks you couldn’t have at least kept in touch with the aunt. :(

Is she still with him?

I got bit by my puggle yesterday and she drew blood... The heat technician was coming in the door and I was trying to catch her, I think she thought I was him and she snapped.

Once she realized it was me she hung her head.

I'm sorry you got bit just keep it cleaned! You don't want it to get infected.

Is she still with him?
Yup, the whole family dislikes him... There's more to the story.

My grandmother passed away in 2014 when I was on vacation in New Hampshire visiting my boyfriend and I called my aunt to see if my boyfriend and I could stay at her house because I had nowhere to stay. We were driving about 10 hours to get to the funeral and my boyfriend had just crushed discs in his back at work. I didn't want him to come but he refused to stay home. We were about an hour away from her house and it was 10 p.m. She told me that we couldn't stay there because of her husband!!! I had to call my grandmother who lived even farther away from where the funeral was, about two hours and ask her to stay at her house.

I was already in shock that I had lost my grandmother who lived with us all of our life and was like a second mother to me, having my aunt disrespect me like that was the last straw...

So no I do not talk to my aunt anymore and I am not ashamed about it.

We did go to my other aunt's house and that aunt showed up, I kept it nice but I'll never forget that day.

My grandmother is also 82 years old and not doing very well, my aunt called her not long ago bragging that she was about 10 minutes away from my grandmother's house but not visiting.

Her husband also sold my grandfather's El Camino that he had fixed that he was planning on handing down to the grandkids. When he passed away, the car went missing overnight and that car was supposed to go to me.

Thank you. :hugs

Oh yeah, I’ve already washed it like a million times and put peroxide and alcohol on it haha I’m paranoid :lau

Thinking I might find some neosporin to put on it.

You’re right though, it’s not deep thankfully. He was mostly just blindly chomping and releasing rather than actually really biting or aiming for me. He just has a super strong bite/grip apparently LOL

Thankfully I was wearing gloves or he probably could have done damage.

And thank you :hugs yeah, it just shocked me cause he’s always soooo gentle and sweet but I know that when animals are injured or scared, they can do crazy things. He proved that first hand hah

Poor guy was terrified :hit

And it was awful listening him to cry! But anytime I went to reach for his leg he would bite and I was so scared he was gonna get seriously hurt. He was just flailing around and screaming :hit

But thankfully he managed to get out on his own.

We were right in front of some houses but no one was home.

I’m not sure what I would have done if he hadn’t pulled himself out.

It was his back leg that slipped in so I think that made it easier to get out as opposed to if it was a front leg.

It was awful though. :hit

I was shaking so much after haha

I was so glad he was okay but it was like I finally had a second to breathe and take in what had just happened.

And thank you, I am too!! Such a relief!!

Anyway, thank you. :love :hugs

Oh wow that sucks!! Yeah, I think he didn’t really realize who I was or even what he did haha he was just so focused on getting out. Although he didn’t bit Libby :lau

But she mostly stayed away except to sniff him once or twice.

And thanks, yeah I’m paranoid about that and keep washing it haha

Oh wow they sound terrible I’m sorry. :(

Although it seems like she might have just been worried about what the husband was gonna do and/or protecting you guys rather than just not wanting you there? But still weird and the rest of it is definitely pretty shitty :(

Probably better to not talk to them ha
