➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Speaking of Christmas, anybody got all their shopping done yet?
Yup. And a lot more than I planned on buying. That's one of the downfalls of shopping early... you see other stuff that would be great, and end up buying way too much.

My parents used to go to warehouse sales. My mom would buy all kinds of future presents, but when a birthday or Christmas would come along she'd go buy gifts. She ended up filling my sister's old bedroom to the rafters with ungiven gifts.

Okay, does anyone else have a crazy cat?
Tom puts his toy mouse in the cat water bowl and drinks from the dog water bucket....

One of mine loved putting his mice in the water dish too.

A couple of weeks ago I brought our Christmas stuff out of storage (an old semi trailer) and some clothes. All of it's been in there for a few years. Rain, one of the cats, caught a mouse. That night I was eating dinner and a dead mouse came flying through the air and landed right on my lap.

I also heard something crazy, it might not be crazy though to others...

A guy that has been raising meat chickens for several years (30+) was talking to my husband and told him that the last two weeks before he butchers his chickens, he gives them a cat food. He gives them dry cat food.

Does anyone else do this?

He said that he fed chicken feed until the end and he said the meat wasn't as juicy as it is when he feeds cat food the last two weeks.

He learned it from his family because they had been butchering chickens since before he was even born. when he moved out on his own he decided that he would just feed chicken feed and he realized that it wasn't the same. Either he's crazy or he's smart, I don't know.
My birds get about 1/4 part dry cat food mixed into their feed. Sometimes they eat it, sometimes they don't. :idunno

One friend had one of his entries...a Buckeye bantam hen stolen right out of her cage! Hated that!
The lady I got my buckeyes from got some bantams from someone around Shawnee. Supposedly one of the best buckeye breeders in the country. I was supposed to get some from her this fall, but her cat beat me to it :(

My migraines diminished in intensity and frequency when I went thru menopause. I was prescribed Phentonal for mine when I was in college. Quit taking it befor I had my daughter.
It turns out that my headaches were also caused by hormones. Very irregular periods. Depo Provera took care of that. Other than sinus, I haven't had a headache in decades. :yesss:
