The extent of my bean cooking has been heating up canned beans.

You've never made dried beans? You're missing out on life. Refied beans are so much better homemade! I make mine in the pressure cooker

If we have a ham or something, I will use the bone in beans. But otherwise I usually just use lots of spices, onions, garlic, tomato paste, and veggie broth

This is what I do too! I'm glad I'm not the only one who cooks them without bones.

Awww he sounds so sweet. I am sure he will love he playpen! Tad loves windows so we bought her a window-mounted cat bed. Right now it is in a sunny kitchen window that is perfect for winter when it is too cold for outside time.



For the months of Oct. and Nov., Tad spent almost all of her time hiding in her cave. But she never went into the really deep sleep like IV and some other beardies do. She just napped, and hid, and glared lol. I took her out a couple times a week for bath/poop time and some window gazing and she would usually eat a little then too. Then Dec. came and she stopped hiding and started eating (and pooping!) enough for three dragons



I agree with Tes; Roaches are an awesome live feeder. Easy to care for and very healthy for beardies. They are Tad’s main bug food. I buy them online from Dubi Deli.

The brooder I bought is like panels that you can form into any shape and it makes a playpen... I figured if I put up a heat lamp and put the beardies in there they could run around for a bit. I won't put them in together.

The store manager was thinking that maybe when Groot is big enough that I could slowly introduce them to see if they'll get along. I'm sure Bob won't like the idea, but that's way far in the future.

Im definitely going back on Saturday to leave my number with the store manager to ask him to let me be the first to know if he has any rescues. I have fully decided that I want to have all the reptiles I'm not really into geckos though, we had a leopard gecko and he wasn't friendly at all. I say had because now he's my dad's pet My dad has him in his garage and he hangs out with him. Maybe he ruined my love for geckos that I once had.

I have bad and good memories of iguanas too. Not enough to make me dislike them. A friend of mine had two and one had a bad attitude. He would whip me with his tail and act like a bully, but his female was always sweet. He's actually the person who made me buy my first beardie, he even watched it for me when I went on vacation. He lived till he was 7 years old, his name was Odin. He used to play with my puggle and chase her It was the funniest thing.

I don't eat meat or dairy... I eat only plant foods. When I do beans I'll add fresh peppers, garlic, onions, and seasoning.

We will make them meatless occasionally also. No pressure cooker. Wait for a cold day and cook them on the stove for 2 days until half are mush. Fresh bread with butter or cornbread. I'll eat beans as the main course, but others want a variety. Didn't like it when I blended 2 types of beans "for variety".

DD#1 went on a health kick and we ate a bit of hummus. Interesting flavor. On veggies or bread. Really good with jalapeno potato chips and salsa, too.

Got acorn squash and mushrooms for a roasted vegetable feast.

I'm doing clean plant based eating so it takes out anything overly processed. Only think I'm allowing myself is this bbq sauce because the ingredients are quite clean. I'm impressed with the flavor too. The molasses one has anchovies so I won't be eating that one. I've tried the cherrywood Chipotle so far, it's really good. Husband was using it with chips he loves it, he gave up sweets so he's been eating weird combos!

We are going to attempt to save enough money to buy a plot of land... I'm hoping that we will succeed

What does one put barbecue sauce on besides meat?

I make broccoli or cauliflower "chicken" wings. It's battered cauliflower and broccoli cooked in the oven or air fryer. When they're done I toss them in bbq sauce.

Eating better is a lifestyle change. We are slowly improving. Had a huge setback this year that affected me more than I should have let it. Back to the lifestyle.

No, resolutions are promises. If you don't make promises, you won't break them.

I've decreed that we will move. Intention is to buy land with no HOA. Unfortunately, with fewer humans around, more things eat chicken. Getting that set up will be a lot of work. First goal is to get this place repaired and sold. I've got a 5 year plan. Same setback on diet is affecting this too. Best wishes! It's good that y'all agreed and set a goal together.
