➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I think so. Definitely at least 3 (the red combed ones that made themselves obvious lol) and I have a couple others I’m keeping my eye on. I suspect the EE is one but his comb isn’t red yet so  but he’s HUGE just like the other confirmed boys and he’s got a bit of red leakage on his neck/chest and a super thick/wide comb sooo....

And at least one or two others look slightly red/pink so I’m keeping my eye on them.

With my luck they’ll all be boys. :hit

But the good news, if there is any, is that these ones I’ve had my eye on since day one so at least my suspicions are confirmed lol that’s a relief and I’m glad I’m right. Also glad none of my favorites have turned into boys so far. I knew these were probably boys so tried not to get attached. Really haven’t gotten attached to any specific ones yet. Just love them all as a whole ha wanted to keep all the pullets but there may not even be any. :th Learning a lot at least.

I might keep one boy but idk yet.
i was lucky enough to get 75%+ cockerels from my chicken hatches! maybe part of the reason I no longer hatch chickens :lau:confused:

I hope everyone has a Happy New Years! It's my anniversary today. My hubby made dinner reservations for us tonight. It's the 1st time that he's done that! :clap It's a restaurant that we've never eaten at before so I am excited to get all dolled up and go out. :wee As for any other plans.... eh. We're not super party people. I may be lucky to stay up until midnight. I feel like such a fuddy duddy some times :gig.
happy anniversary! and i used to think we didn’t go out cuz i was getting to be anold fuddyduddy, but after dh dodging 3 drunk drivers before 7pm, i decided it has nothing to do with age, but with safety!!!

It's a northern thing I guess to order it, but not in VA. They eat black eyed peas on New year's Eve
black eyed peas with hog jowl is a southern new year’s day tradition...(yes we will be cooking that tomorrow) not new year’s eve!

Lots of people cook it new year's Eve here
DH said this is first time in his whole life he’s ever heard of anything on NYE....(it was on fox news today too). i never knew about it until we met/married 25 years ago, but his entire life, it’s been NYD to eat hog jowl and blackeye peas on NYD
