➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

They put a hospital a mile away from me a few years ago. They said they would not be going down my road.
:gig
The first year few did, but the main road has traffic jams at the four way stop, so now they go down my road. :he :smackat least once an hour on a good day. Bad weather every ten minutes.
Took the dog a couple of years to quit barking at the ambulances. The turkeys gobble at certain sirens. :rant

OMG that’s awful!!!

That is terrible.

I'm reminded of the people who buy cheap houses and then complain about the jet noise all day from the airport and then want the airport relocated. News flash here, the airport is worth more than your house.

Our first rental trailer house was right by the train crossing, on a busy road, across the street from the fire house. I learned a lot at that location. Like when working nights and attempting to sleep all day, the firemen test all the sirens every Friday at noon. Trains blow their whistle even though the ding-ding arms are down. Also rough having babies. We moved after a year and deciding we had enough. Amazing what you can sleep through AFTER you get accustomed to it.

This is awful too!! Holy moly.

Also.... why would people by a house near an airport then complain about the airport!? :lau

Did either of you see the news video of the Australian magpie that mimics the sound of fire truck sirens?

No but that’s hilarious. OMG :lau

I know African Grey parrots are really great imitators and talkers and can learn sooo many sounds. They’re ridiculously smart too.

My friend used to have one that would imitate their mother so the bird would always shout for her brother or yell at him or whatever and he would go all the way upstairs and it was the dang bird. He’d get so mad. :lau

Bird did a perfect imitation lmao

Last time I was hospitalized for a few weeks, they put me in a room below the helipad  I never knew that those helicopters were in and out all night to the hospital until I saw it every single day. It didn't really bug me, but I'd count how many times it came in.

That was the year that I was crocheting and one of the nurses saw the hats that I was making and bought one for $10. Then all of a sudden everyone wanted one :lau I was selling them to doctors and nurses plus taking special orders.

They also allowed my pug to come stay with me and brought her her own tray of food. They made her chicken and steamed veggies

That’s awesome.

Aww, how cute.
I know everybody says hospital food sucks, but I actually really enjoyed it. Of course, that might've been due to the fact I'd eaten nothing for the last six days. :gig

Six days!? :eek::th

Bad Banty!!!! :old

They make vegan food at my hospital. Plus they sneak me caffeine free Coke. They also hide candy for me :D

Man! I drew the short straw, it seems! I had to smuggle in my own chocolate.

They ordered me pizza too :lau heart shaped pizza on Valentine's day.

Let's just say I'm a VIP and we'll known at the hospital because I lived there for quite some time when I first moved. My Drs before didn't take good care of me unfortunately. They wouldn't listen to me and just read numbers to say how I felt.

Your hospital sounds amazing and I think I’m jealous. :lau

Not the stay or anything but our local one is horrible lol totally incompetent. They majorly screwed something up with my brother hah

Might be better now since they got bought a while ago but I don’t think so.

Thankfully the ones in the city are excellent and some of the best in the country haha

My hospital is a college and hospital all in one. That's probably why they have all the perks they have. There's a Chick fil a, Wendy's, and Einstein brothers there too. There's au bon pain too, I always get soup from there. The only way you can get food from those places is if your Dr allows it. Many don't, but my Dr knows how I eat so I'm allowed anything I want.
