And @CSAchook the roaches seem a lot more lively, I think it was just the shipping that took a toll on them.

I am not going to feed anymore fresh food just because I want to make sure they're getting what the need in order to produce offspring. I know the roach feed has everything they need kind of like how chicken feed has everything a chicken needs.

@KDOGG331 I started up my incubator He text me today saying he should have 3 dozen eggs on Monday. Hopefully they're fertile, he doesn't know how to tell. He's not very fluent in English. I asked if he kept my roosters with his hens and he said yes, he's had my olive egger roosters for almost 7 months now. He's only had Sid about 3ish weeks or so.

I use nail clippers too. The kind for babies lol.
No set schedule. When she starts cutting up my arms too badly when she climbs on me then I know it is time for a trim.

How often do you cut Gamora’s? Maybe I should up the frequency so she gets more used to it.

Maybe once a month. She's been growing like crazy.

I'm sure they are. My boys are quite the rowdy bunch I like how I have boys at both places and this can be the beginning of a great thing. I get eggs from him, give him some chicks after they hatch then sell the rest. Most can be sold as olive eggers too

I gave away most of my eggs I had to incubate from my flock I'll have to collect more between tomorrow and Monday. I'm getting 36 eggs from him and I'll put 6 of my own in there. I sold all my feathered feet chicks too so I need to try to get more of those!

Aww that stinks!! But now you get to collect more eggs!! And hatch more chicks!!! Also.. I think you should set more than 6 of your own.

Baluttie peeps: who here keeps bantam chickens? DH wants the new flock to include some fakers Any special advice or things I need to be aware of? We have never had bantams before.

Me! Bantams are great. I haven't had any special requirements from them. They're scrappy enough to hold their own, yet smart enough to know when they can't. They're intelligent, as a whole, and frankly just the cutest things ever. I currently have a mixed OEGB line and bantam Chanteclers.

Good, good, and good! I still want some LF hens too so always good to hear from others with mixed sized / breed flocks. What is the temperament of the OEGB cross boys? I had a little game cockerel years ago and would like to get another one eventually.

Amazing. This is my boy Natasha. He's incredibly well mannered. I use him at fairs as a display bird because he'll simply perch on my hand and let people pet him. I don't generally make pets out of roosters, but if I'm going to do it, I'm doing it with an OEGB. They're intelligent enough to walk the "line" of comfort without overt familiarity.
