Yeah I know but I don’t know for sure that it was a hawk. Just that my mom saw it hanging around and it kept coming back/wouldn’t leave. Could have been anything though. But he still had his head.

And wait like his body heat or? It’s not hot here. Pretty cold. Well, 40ish and it was this morning & in the shade.

I think she meant when you cook the meat it will kill it.

It doesn’t but I thought raccoons and such usually took the head??? Trying to narrow it down here. His head/comb was bloody but still there.

They usually do but it looks like they couldn't reach his head.
Was the top of this run open?
Did he have wounds on his body?

Nahh I wasn’t haha

And that makes sense!

And no it wasn’t. We spent a lot of time putting hardware cloth over the whole top and zip tying it on and everything. Even zip tied the overlap in the middle. Guess I should have spent a little more time on the bottom. but we don’t have too many predators here and I really thought diggers would be the main concern. Guess not. Need to buy some more HC. We also ran out after using it on the roof.

And not that I could see but I didn’t really look at him. Just grabbed him and bagged him. I could take him out of the trash and check though. From what I saw, it looked like his head was bloodied and one wing had a bald spot.
