Rumor is true. Forecast was 29°F for my little slice of paradise, but it appears we only made it to 30°F officially.

Heavy dew in the yard but NO frost on the grass or roof.

No, I do not protect the 20 odd - 15 foot tall banana trees. I let nature take it's course. We are close enough to the bay that the microclimate keeps us a few degrees warmer than the official station farther inland.

Forecast for tomorrow was 29°F again. Today it is 30°F, so looking good. Can't wait for more climate change!

My experience in frost protection is that if you get out there in the morning and hose the frost off before the sun hits the plants, you will save them.
