⭐ Kiki's Year Long 🌶️

We are on propane heat. Both tanks are full so for now we are good.
We have rural co-op electric. So far no issues, but we are abiding by the recommended low power use.
If our electric goes out, we have no well water. This means we can’t drip faucets...pipes might freeze.
Without electric we can’t charge the engine warmers for the tractor and diesel trucks ...won’t start.
I keep solar charged light bulbs and have solar outside lights.
They are telling us to keep our thermostat at 68 or less. I have mine set to 67.

Do you have heated waterers?
So far this has been the worst for me.
That and the constant worry about losing power.
Yes! But I don’t like those waterers in general so I have heated dog bowl type things for the chickens. For the quail, I just have a rubber bowl that’s easy to dump out and refill because those waterers you showed are like impossible to open once they freeze 😂 I had a few bad experiences with that and switched. I want to get a heated bowl for them too but gotta get another cord.

So how many times a day to you change water?

I swear I've changed them out a million times already.
I'll do it once more soon then they will be screwed for the night. Although I probably will be too worried to sleep much do I'll sneak out a few times during the middle of the night too.
