Seriously though, raw pork meat can make you sick for a while. Trichinella doesn't live in the pork fat. If you are only using the fat, you should be fine.

If in doubt, don't.

Have you been wormed lately? Just watched a story where River Blindness was treated with Ivermectin after everything else failed. Not nice. I think he'd lost sight in one eye at that point.

everyone has worms. Some just don't show symptoms.

I'm pretty sure you can get it from hamburger meat too.
That's probably a rare occurrence but no way am I taking the risk. I have sat through too many ServSafe classes. I be paranoid.
