Chinchillas are delicate. I remember the vet being amazed that I'd kept mine alive for 5 years when one got an eye infection. Most people can't keep them alive for more than a couple of years because they don't do their research. And that's why he might not live as long as he should. Their digestions are very delicate. I feed mine Mazuri chinchilla pellets and one raisin a day.Mine is 6 years old now, but you take better care of yours. He is dumb. I didn't even think about these dumb things.I have a Chinchilla it takes dust baths like chickens.
All of his pee makes it into the litter pan and 90% of his poops.
