They're Easter Eggers. They have a 90% guarantee that they're female. I want Ayam Cemani, but since these are replacements for Nugget, the rooster that some kids gave me back in October, I don't feel right charging my neighbour Ayam Cemani prices for him.

My neighbour across the street got a new dog that she couldn't keep contained despite my telling her that I wasn't comfortable witht he dog running loose. The @#$@ dog got out, shoved my greenhouse door open, and mauled poor Nugget. I had to finish him off because he was so badly injured. I could have let it go, but this neighbour has done a couple other shady things, so I told her I wanted her to replace Nugget. She could have gotten a free rooster somewhere, but said she's afraid of birds and would just give me money, so...

I only charged her $20. That's pretty small potatoes for damages, and I think fair. I liked Nugget. He was a pet.

I think Helga is a day older than Hedwig and Honor. Her wing feathers are a little more developed, at least.

Edit: Helga's egg tooth is gone too, while Hedwig and Honor still have theirs.

It's not a big surprise. I got them from the feed store that I get my quail feed from. Funny thing is, this is the only place around me that sells Bar Ale feed. They're an equestrian supply store.
