Have you tried them raw, fresh out of the pod while still in the garden? They have no comparison with cooked or canned peas.

I eat them before the peas are completely formed, so they're more like snow peas. Fresh out of the pod is amazing too.

I think so but I can’t remember if it was peas or green beans we grew lol I think green beans. I’ll have to give the peas another try.

Green beans lightly steamed with a bit of katsuo (bonito flakes) and shoyu (soy sauce)... Yum. Stir fried nice and hot in home made teriyaki style sauce (with ginger and garlic) is also delicious.

We're seeing lots of deer on this ride. Some have been close enough to touch from the motorcycle

Dang. Those dogs I mentioned earlier not only killed 8 chickens, they menaced the neighbour's wife. The police came and made them surrender the dogs, so you can guess what happened to them.

That's scary. Several years ago a motorcycle rider here was killed when a turkey buzzard flew into his chest and caused him to crash. Deer are much bigger.
