"Technically, since you just said something to me, you do. But logic aside, I know you do have some important information, and if you don't give us that information, I doubt that sneer on your face with stay that way for long." Dr. Mythe's expression turned dark as he stared at Artemis. "So, last chance to tell me before the fun starts."
"Never." She sneared once more unshakingly.

Vanessa tsk tsked in her head. A negative answer, and so soon, was surely going to mean an injection. She wasn't fond of the ways the CMI got their information from prisoners, but the one time she interceded, her career was threatened. The next time, it could certainly be her life.

"Fine, your choice for now." He said simply. He gave her the injection of bullet ant venom in the base of her back, and made sure to empty the needle completely. He went to set it on the small metal table that was holding all of the other needles and focused on Artemis again to see her reaction. He wished he had brought some piece of paper so he could write down the reactions. This was a very high dose of venom.

At first Artemis felt nothing, but as a few seconds passed her whole body erupted into pain. She moaned only to keep herself from screaming. Her vision became instantly blurry, and the pain occuping her every thought only gave her enough comprehension to keep herself standing, as her greatest wish was to not acknowledge the pain completely by crumbling to the floor. Jaxson's grip on her arm was alone the only support that kept her from falling but that would soon fail her.

Dr. Mythe chuckled at her obvious pain.
"Not so tough now, are you? I have studied the human body for years, I know just how to make it suffer." He told her menacingly as he flicked the tip of another needle, ready to fill her with more venom.
"So, are you ready to answer my question now? Or do you still have nothing to tell me?"

Jaxson tried to keep a blank face as he supported her. "You're not going to give her a second dose, are you??" He asked, wide eyed. It was obvious enough that the first one was giving her enough pain as it were.

Vanessa silently pleaded for him to shut up. Of course Mythe would give her more if he thought it would force questions from her.

Artemis struggled to listen to the scientist's words, having as much trouble focusing her hearing as much as her vision. "I'll never answer your questions." She said, her intentionally menacing tone masked by her unstable breathing.
