(Mmm..)
Artemis turned from the window she had been watching through to join Amy at the table. She smiled, pleased that Amy approved, before taking a bite of her pizza.
"How did you sleep?" Amy asked in between bites. Light, casual conversation seemed the best way to clear her head right now.

Artemis shrugged at first, before swallowing to answer: "I haven't been able to sleep without nightmares, since.." She continued eating, but her quiet, casual words lingered. She tried to make it seem like it didn't matter, but it did; walking up every night not unable to shake the emotions the nightmares evoked, ones of pain and terror.

Amy set down her fork (yes, fork; not everyone likes to pick up their pizza to eat

) to give Artemis her full attention for a moment. "I understand," she said quietly. "Maybe not fully, but I understand more than others of what you speak of. They may never go away completely, but I hope that staying here will bring some peace to mind."

Artemis looked up suddenly, wondering what Amy meant by that. "Thank you, I think it already has." She smiled softly, standing to take her plate to the sink

Amy finished soon after and took her own plate to the sink. "I need to show you something before I go downstairs," she said. The shop was supposed to be open in a few minutes, which she was well aware of, but what she had to show her guest was more important than *opening on the dot.

(geez what a typo)

"What?" Artemis asked out of curiosity, wondering what was more important than going down stairs to the cafe she was sure should be opened very soon.

Amy beckoned her to follow as she went to the half of the apartment where the bedroom, closet, and bathroom were. Flipping on the light switch so they could see, she then opened the locket worn around her neck and out fell a small key. "This," she said, holding it up, "has saved many a contenders' life." She pushed aside a section of clothes on the bottom rack and moved over slightly so Artemis could see. "If ever there is trouble, you simply help yourself to this--" there was a pause as she ran her fingers over a barely visible seam in the wallpaper and inserted the key, pressed gently, the hidden door popping and she pried it open "--until the coast is clear."

Artemis followed closely behind Amy as she was lead into her bedroom. She watched Amy eagerly to see what would happen; eyes sparkling with excitement. "I will." She whispered softly, comforted by the thought.
