"You killed my father, my mother and my brother this way." Artemis choked her throat swelling with overdose of venom. "I will not be afraid to die as they have." She told Mythe.
"Not telling us anything doesn't save anyone. Eventually, your little group along with all of the Mira will be dead. Your group is very small, and it will fail. Have you realized that over so many years, the Contenders have done nothing besides say they don't like what's happening? When will you give in to the fact that that is all they will ever accomplish?" Dr. Mythe asked her darkly. "Your mother, father, and brother died for nothing. They died for a little club that can't win. So how about you just get it over with, and answer a question."

Anger flashed in the core of Artemis' eye. "You're wrong!" She breathed, her words cut short for fear of letting information slip.

"How am I wrong? Can you prove your point at all? Or are you too realizing that your family was foolish, and it is only their fault that they died for an idea that is a failure?" Dr. Mythe knew that the more he talked of Artemis's family like this, the more angry and distraught she would become, which would heighten the possibility of her choosing a bad choice of words.

Artemis' jaw clenched close, as she focused on her vision which had worsened tremendously with the second dose of venom. Her pain was becoming a great distraction to keep her fury from causing her to say something she would later regret.

Dr. Mythe waited a few moments before deciding she wasn't going to say anything.
"Hm. Guess you have nothing that can prove what you're arguing." He said in a slightly smug tone and went back over to all of his needles, examining them.
"Did you know that there is actually an insect rumored to have a worse sting than the bullet ant?" Dr. Mythe asked Artemis, not looking at her.
"It's called a warrior wasp. And while it has not been confirmed if they really are more painful than the bullet ant, there's a fair chance they actually are. And conveniently, I have some of the venom. So once you've gained a bit more stamina so you don't pass out, I think you'll then enjoy a dose of this. Probably won't inject it into your throat this time, though. Must have forgotten that it can make it close up." The tone of his voice made it a little more than obvious he didn't forget.

Vanessa, after listening to him, decided to try to intervene. She came up behind him and set her hand gently on his shoulder to get his attention. "Dr. Mythe, do you really think another injection will bring forth any more information?" She asked calmly. Lowering her voice, she added, "this may very well kill her. And then where would you have gotten us? One more dead body?"

Just by thinking about being given more venom, Artemis' breathing became more difficult. Swallowing hard, she kept herself from running away as a coward would attempt.

"Well, it could if her body, like some others, can't handle so much venom, but if she doesn't say anything she may as well be dead." Dr. Mythe replied bluntly. "But if you think this is all a waste of time, then I have no reason to stay here filling someone with venom instead of working."

"How about we send her back to her cell and bring her in again tomorrow for more questions," Vanessa suggested. She quickly added, "and more venom, if necessary. Maybe the guard can get some info out of her."

Artemis remained silent, not wanting to give any hint that either option would provide her with relief.
