"No problem," Jaxson nodded then turned to leave, but stopped when he saw Vanessa. "What brings you down here?" He asked her.
"Good to see you too," Vanessa frowned at him, then stepped aside to let him out. "How is she?" She asked, pulling him away from the door.
"Fine, I think. She took the tablets you instructed me to give, and she ate everything you had sent in," he explained.
"Good, good."
"Is that all?"
"Is that all what?" Vanessa snapped.
"Geez, Nessie. Is that the only reason you came down here, to interview me?" Jaxson demanded. The attitude she brought down with her was beginning to get under his skin.
Vanessa shot him a glare, though she immediately regretted it. Remembering her resolve to be calm, she looked him in the eye and said as calmly as possible, "First of all, don't call me that. Second of all, I came down to make sure Artemis is alive and well. And to say that, I have an appointment at the same time as the interrogation—"
Jaxson put up a hand to interrupt her. "Okay, so you want me to make sure all goes well, and—" he stuck a finger out to shush her as she opened her mouth "—that I stay out of trouble. Only say as much as is required."
Vanessa nodded. "There's a good boy. I'll see you both this evening," she said with a wave and a smile as she turned to leave.

Artemis lay curled up on her cot, eyes contemplative as she thought overy yesterday's events, and anticipating this days events that were yet to come.

Jaxson rolled his eyes as Vanessa left. Lately she had become snappier and more prone to little outbursts, but it was probably due to work or something simple. He returned to Artemis' doorway. "Getting closer," he said, referring to the time.

"Minds well go. I hate sitting here aimlessly anticaping what might happen, while we could go and get it over with." She said, rising from her cot with a deep breath. "Besides, I doubt that Mythe would mind us being early."

"I suppose we could," Jaxson said, entering the cell. "Turn around," he said as he removed the handcuffs from his belt.

Jaxson closed them around her wrists before going to shut down the cell's shield. "Let's go," he said, taking her by the upper arm.

Artemis stiffened when Jaxson took hold of her arm, somehow subconsciously thinking that she had earned his trust enough that he might not have so many precautions with her. But now she was convinced that that too had been a lie.

Jaxson, as if reading her mind, said quietly, "Cameras. I can't risk my job or your life by going slack with you." He then gave her a gentle nudge to get moving out the door.

"Alright," came her quiet reply. Artemis looked up at Jaxson with big eyes full of intrigue.

"Alright," came her quiet reply. Artemis looked up at Jaxson with big eyes full of intrigue.
Jaxson walked beside her to the elevator, staying stiff and silent to keep up appearance with the cameras. Somewhere along the way he loosened his grip considerably and let go completely at the elevator doors to open them.
