"Go ahead." Artemis said with a sigh of disinterest. She was sure that whether or not she agreed, Lydia would ask her questions. She was slightly intrigued that she'd interrupted the C.M.I.'s cause enougg to become their source of gossip.

Lydia leaned against the wall, arms crossed, as she thought of her first question to ask her. Anything she asked could not reveal something about the C.M.I, so she had to be picky with herself.

"Well, first of all, were you seriously in a Cafe when you were caught? Like, you could be easily spotted by anybody, yet you still decided to be in a popular hangout spot that attracts countless people?"

"It worked before, didn't it?" Artemis reasoned casually. "I hid in the C.M.I.'s plain sight by pretending to be there own, yet it took a year for them to figure out my identity."
(Answer other post in a few.)

Aya decided to not reply, as they were already parting, and simply waved goodbye before crossing the street and subtly getting out her phone so she could see exactly where she was. First she wanted to get to her house, fix herself up so she wouldn't look like a complete mess at work, and of course actually get to work.
Devine stood to watch Aya leave, until she was out of sight. He turned to retreat into the shadows of the alley which lead him to his home.

"But then they realized you left them, and Han was on a killing spree 24/7, and so you 'hid' in a coffee shop...I don't know, it just sound very stable to me. But, oh well, you're here now. And no matter what you did, you'd still be here. So it doesn't matter in the end, does it?"

Lydia sighed and picked at her fingernails that had dirt wedged under them.

Aya realized she actually wasn't too far from home, and a good meal and some sleep had restored all of her energy so the walk wasn't difficult in the least. She took about 30 minutes of her time before arriving home and dug her keys out of her purse to unlock the door.

She walked inside and shivered as she looked at the insides of her home. The heat wasn't on and hadn't been for a while, so it had gradually gotten rather chilly.

Walking into her bedroom, she gathered some clothes and her makeup bag and got ready to take a shower. Though, it would have to be a quick one, because she had an entire day of explanations ahead of her. Like most days.

Artemis didn't answer. She reminded herself that this woman didn't deserve an explanation; Artemis did the only thing she could. She tuned out of the woman's rambling, no longer interested in what she had to say. She was, however, grateful for the momentary distraction from her own thoughts.

As Lydia spoke, she looked up and saw the distant look Artemis had obtained. It was obvious she had pretty much stopped listening and tuned out Lydia's voice. Which, she was fine with that. It wasn't like she was saying anything important.

"Well, I think it's obvious that you are absolutely not interested in talking at all, and I can't say I blame you, so I think I'm going to get back to my other duties if you don't mind. Which, you most likely don't."

(I'll have Max send him in if that's fine with you both)

"No, I don't think so," Amy said worriedly. She nervously bit her nail as she looked around the room once more. "I got home a few minutes ago and the shop is complete empty. And th-there's a pool of blood in the kitchen and—" she stopped there, on the verge of tears, letting Jaxson think what he wanted to.
-
Jaxson fidgeted with his watch as he listened anxiously. He was already headed for Max's office before she finished. "I'll find it what I can and get back to you," he promised before hanging up to quickly call Max.
-
Amy let out a sigh she hadn't been aware she was holding in. There wasn't any outside thing she could do about the situation for now, so she went to find rags and a bucket to clean up the blood. It was unnerving her and was way too much of a distraction to do anything else until it was gone.
Amy finished cleaning the floor and went to dump the bag of bloodied and wet rags in the trash can out back. She had finally stopped shaking enough to pour herself a cup of tea without spilling it, so she took that and the newspaper that had been delivered earlier and went upstairs to try to read it.

Her mind, so muddled by the day's and last week's events, wouldn't allow the words to come into reasonable focus, and she soon gave up. She tossed the paper to the side and went over to the window overlooking the street. He still hadn't called back and every minute passed her imagination formed new, awful ideas about Artemis and the pool of blood. And Jenny. Where had Jenny gone off to? Had they both been taken? Had the employee turned Artemis in or taken her somewhere safer?

Artemis looked to Lydia but didn't reply. Yes. She wasn't interested in what Lydia said, but if she was honest with herself, she would have to admit she was enjoying the company of another person, no matter who it was. Of course, she couldn't tell her enemy that.

Lydia gave Artemis a fake pout as she looked at her.
"Aw, you almost look like a little sad puppy with those mopey eyes of yours. Anyway, I better get going before Han stops being in such a good mood. See ya."

And at that, Lydia unlocked and opened the cell door, slowly pushing the heavy metal door shut and leaving Artemis alone once again.
