I need assurance or damnation. On day 10 I candled and weighed the lot. While doing so I unplugged one of the vertical egg turners (to untangle the cords) and then forgot to plug it back in. The next day, yesterday I decided they had enough messing with, so I didn't rotate the shelves (which I switch who is on top daily). So this morning I realized one of the turners was not turning and it is the one with all my CCL. Which is it then, I am hoping assurance as they can move freely on day 10 so they shouldn't stick to the shell...

I read about an experiment at a university about turning eggs. Their conclusion was it's more about timing of turning with days 4 to 7 being the most critical. I think they're fine but here's a link if you're interested.

Hey everyone,
I love watching chicks hatch and I am so interested in all the different breeds, I will be watching this thread with interest!
I have 10 Lavender Araucana in my incubator along with 4 Waipahi (New Zealand breed), can't wait to see the little cuties hatch,
Due to hatch on 13th August
Have candles them and they are all live and have views and lil black dots in them.
these will be the 4th lot I have hatched in the last few months, I just can't seem to stop myself lol
I had to promise the hubby no more........we will see

Sonic has 2 siblings and 2 more are about to hatch. One is a celadon egg I gave some quail eggs away today and they loved them. I think quail eggs are gorgeous!

They'll be fine. That's not gonna hurt them at all, in any way. And if you do have any trouble, it won't have been caused by forgetting to plug the turner back in.

My turners was shut off the past 2 weeks on my quail that are hatching I forgot to plug them in. The first 4 days they got turned and it seems that was good enough for them!

Put 7 surprise silkie eggs into lockdown yesterday!!! Can't wait to see what pops out. I ended up with 5 from the last batch. 1 a day for 5 days. Now that's a staggered hatch. I hope these little guys are a little better on timing. Also candled my beilefelder eggs, had 2 clear and 2 questionable that I left in so still have 9 going.
