Beauty keeps following Freckles and the chicks around the last couple days and it’s so adorable 😂🤣 I think she wants to be a mother too. Or the cool aunt. 😂🥰

I have a question. I have a 12 shipped eggs that arrived today. I have another 12 coming that may get here tomorrow. If the second batch does arrive tomorrow, would it be ok to let the first 12 sit an extra day so I can put them in the incubator at the same time?

When I ordered them I wasn't sure how close they would be. My back up plan was to get a second incubator for hatching.
They should be fine if they are mailed fresh. You should keep them in a cool place while waiting.

You can wait an extra day to put them in but you could easily hatch them in the same incubator without waiting as well. 24 hours isn't going to make a big difference in the hatch. Just stop turning all of the eggs early. You can stop turning as early as day 14 with no detrimental effects.

Depending on what day they were collected and then shipped would make the difference for if I let them sit an extra day. If it were me, I would let them rest overnight and set the first batch tomorrow. Then if the 2nd batch arrived tomorrow, let them rest 24 hours and set them the next day. Only being 1-2 day difference will not be a problem. Just put them both on lockdown at the same time. Any greater of a gap in time then you would be better to get another incubator to use as a hatcher.

Finished the hatch with 14 babies out of 20 that made it to lock-down. I assisted one and she's doing fine. Sadly, I waited to long to intervene on another. I was able to hear it chirping so I thought it would be okay but it moved, covered the air hole and ran out of oxygen. I'm kicking myself for not getting to it in time. Enough said... let's celebrate the one's that made it... it's been a long 30 hours!

Congrats on the hatch! I'm sorry you lost some. You did a great job and now get some well earned rest!
