I candled the chicken eggs. Only three out of five eggs left now.

My 2 Silver Deathlayer chicks. The more gold colored one in the front is really loud and ornery!

My 5 Bresse chicks. I did a quick candle on the remaining 4 and am thinking the others either quit really late or nicked a vein (except one of these I thought was a quitter before I put it in, but just wanted to make sure) as I did not see any veins or movement. Glad I at least got 5 as it has been 4 batches of eggs to get any at all. Think I might order some Blue Bresse, once I get room in the incubator, from the lady I got my assorted bantams from. She has been great to work with and so fun to email back and forth.

I wish I could join in but our incubator is broken and I can not fix it until the winter. hopefully next spring I can join

So both of my batches have hatched, guess how many chicks I now have. 43 chicks! I think I have bitten off a tiny, tiny, tiny little bit more than I can chew...

Wellll I filled my bators again, I traded birds for eggs... lol. Sebrights, a couple polish/sebright x, and some bantam EE. And the first bunch of quail which are due in a week or so. I reallllly hope I wind up with some hens though... all of my original batch appear to be boys!!!! Also still on the lookout for more Hedemora eggs.

Just had 7 out of 10 hatch!! Bantam Wyandottes
2x partridge
2x lavender
2x Pekin cross
1x white
