🍃August Hatch-a-Long🍃

Well I am back to try again. My first attempt ever ended with 0 chicks, so depressing. But I’ve picked myself up and moved forward. I now have 14 seramas, 7 fibro melanistic lavender Easter eggers, 7 lavender Ameraucana, 14 BBS Ameraucana, 1 silkie, and 2 olive eggers in the incubators now. All shipped eggs. Due August 13 and August 15. Going to dry hatch this time since my last batch drowned. Incubators are running dry pretty consistently around 32-40%. Heres to hoping I have a better outcome!

I bet you'll hatch every one. Then what will you do?

I’m not home right now so I was hoping by the time I got home later today that it’ll be ready.

I’m not sure why she left them. Think she was impatient or thought they were dead But I’ll brood them and try to make sure they live. The Polish crosses are the best crosses I’ve done so far.

This is my first hatching experience. Is this a crack? It's not visible from the outside and I don't know how it would have cracked. I handle them gently if I handle them at all. The egg is on day 13 I think.

Ok That's good. Had me worried for a bit since the other eggs arent like that.

Has anybody ever used an egg buddy? Came across it for the first time ever today in a incubating group on FB. Supposedly you sit the egg in the device, close it and it will tell you if there is a heart beat or not. Was giving a pulse for dead eggs so it doesn't sound accurate but curious if any hatch-a-holics here have used it or something similar?

Looks like I’m setting 30 quail eggs tonight I have to set the incubator temp slightly higher because I need them to hatch on August 14th or early August 15th.
