The Hatchery said to use Raw organic apple cider vinegar with mother, at the rate of 1/3 cup per quart. I usually use chick booster for the first gallon then switch to ASV. So I questioned them and they assured me that it would knock it out. They specifically said not to treat them, I am worried. I will go get some, if it spreads I will have it on hand.
That doesn’t not treat it... you’ll lose more if you trust their advice. Corid is the only way to go. It isn’t an antibiotic either and can be found at TSC.

I use ACV in all my waterers just to keep the algae and stuff away. My whole chick flock went down in half overnight from the C word and that was with ACV.

I did Corid and I didn’t lose any others.

I truly can’t believe they said it would help... don’t trust them because it will spread like wildfire.

Have you seen bloody poop?

still trying to figure out how to break ALL the broodies at my house... 3 turkeys, and 4 chickens, at this time... silly birds
I have broody girlfriends; a CCL and a Narragansett turkey. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø They had chicken & turkey eggs but I've had to pull the chicken eggs, all. 😢 Poor chicken hen. I wonder who will be mama, or whether they'll take turns? Of the two, chicken-mama has been the most consistently faithful but the Narri is pretty good. And, every day when I get them off the nest to eat, there's a new blue egg. Is my broody still laying??? Or could it be a different blue layer? šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø I have several...

Day 4 today, candled the eggs!

There was 9 clears but the rest are developing 🄳

There is also more developing in another incubator too.

As for humidity, it’s still sticking at around 55% now which is really annoying me.

I did try the rice in a bag as suggested but it didn’t do anything to the humidity unfortunately.

The eggs are just going to have to try and make it through and hope they lose enough moisture before they start hatching.

No I haven't seen any bloody poop, I will be crawling around the play pen later to see if I can find any. I have over 40 four day old chicks in a large brooder. I truly hope this was a knee jerk answer by them and it isn't there. Regardless, my order in town (hour round trip) is ready and I will be treating for it if I see any bloody poop or lose another bird. It do you think, because they said it I should just add it to the water?
