Anyway, I’m excited and hoping I get to see a couple cute baby faces by 11/2!!![]()
X2
I candled my 19 eggs tonight and have 8 left and only 4 I feel have a solid chanceSeveral fertile ones that seemed to not get past day 2, three blood rings, 2 infertile, and a few that seemed scrambled. Shipped eggs at the end of the laying season are a gamble so I’m not at all surprised but sort of bummed. I’ve found that at least 1 or 2 of the solid looking ones DIS during lockdown so I am looking at maybe 2 chicks hatching. I just don’t have great success with shipped eggs. It’s okay, I can get more in Spring…but if they all fail my daughter will be so bummed! Blah!

Congratulations on a great hatch and being first to report here!! Happy Hatch-o-Ween!!I set mine on 10/2, 17 eggs. Candled at 10 days and removed 5 that had not developed, two were too dark to see inside, all the rest had good air cells. First pipped on 10/22 at about 9 PM, hatched 18 hours later on 10/23. 4 more pipped on the 23'd, hatched that evening and over night. 4 more pipped the morning of the 24th and hatched later that day. So total of 9 hatched, all look healthy and strong. Of the 3 remaining, two did not develop and the third was a quitter. So now I wait to find out how many boys. They are all mixes with EE in them, so may be awhile before I know for sure.
First one at hatch:
