They're gorgeous! I know nothing about quail colours, they seem as equally complicated as chickens

They end up being more complicated because there is less researched, everyone seems to have a different name for the colours and different opinion on how they work

And one of the big quail hatchery that has a lot of information about the colours, I don't like and don't trust their genetics knowledge

Yup, although the names seem cuter. Name a chicken colour pansy, and the TSC addicts would be all over it

How does ratting with ferrets work? Do they go through some sort of training? Sounds very interesting!

Its mostly instinct you. Can do stuff to get them more used to going into the tunnels but other then that no training!

They will go down the rat tunnels and flush them out or kill the ones they can. It is very controversial though because it is not the safest compared to rabbiting. I chose to use ferrets because it was the best for the wildlife and environment

So far I haven't had much luck because of how controversial it is I can't find anyone who breeds for it.

Hobson my male is too big and has 0 instinct, which means his children also where too big and had no instinct. Belinda is the best so far, Peaches doesn't have much instinct and Jillian doesn't seem the healthiest so I don't use her

I do have a mildly oops litter of hobson x belinda so hopefully one of the 12! Little ferrets will be good

I am also looking for a different male but they need to be micro and working line which makes it harder

Just found out people are selling micro ferrets for £100-200 I did find somebody selling half micros for a more reasonable price
