🐣🐄Black Copper Marans and Whiting True Blues. Lots of videosšŸŽ„

Beautiful chooks and beautiful eggs. Remind us again please.
The first pic is the barnyard mix chicks, hopefully those 2 brown ones are pullets.
2nd and 3rd pics are my black copper marans pullets
4th pic is the all white/fibro cockerel that needs a home.
Egg pic is my darkest maran next to a whiting true blue.
Last pic is of the coop and my increasingly black colored flock,

Here’s some updated shots of Magic the Whiting true blue cockerel. I plan to hatch some chicks out of him in about a month.

Magic is so beautiful. Don't you sometimes wish that cockerels were not so territorial and we can own a bunch of them? Some look so majestic!!!

Hatch a few cockerels from him just in case something happen--- knock on wood.
Do you have a whiting blue hen?

This guy is gorgeous.
Thanks, he’s got lots of color. He’s very vibrant in person. I plan to hatch pure whiting true blues from my 3 wtb pullets and also olive eggers from the black copper marans.
I’d like to get my next cockerel out of him and my bluest egg layer. He’s got an attitude and chases the kids so I would like to replace him at some point.
I revised my feeders for the 3rd time now and built a little platform to catch the fallen food.
I’m almost finished set up so I can leave for a few weeks and not worry about feeding and water.

What a great idea, the platform. Gotta ask the husband to build one. But how can you freshen up their water if you are gone for weeks? This is exactly why we have not gone on holiday this summer yet. Trying to figure it out.

I have two of the 5 gallon buckets with watering cups. You can see one in the photos in the background. And I have two of the 5 gallon feeders too. I put these under a sheltered area so they won’t get hot in the sun or wet in the rain.

Definitely a puzzler. I'm leaning male, but I can explain away every "male" trait in one way or another, so I'm not confident either way. Again, I'll be curious to see what it turns out to be!
I’m thinking you are right. He’s getting some color in the small comb and I’ve seen him spar with another cockerel with hackles raised. Looking at the photos he looks male.
